#3 vs #6 and #4 vs #5 in SEC standings to seed top 4 in SEC...

WHY should a #6 seed be allowed to win a Natty?

What other group has a full conference tourney in ANY sport?

The XII used to with 10 teams & a 9 game fb conf. schedule (if you consider that “a tourney”).

I’m saying (always have said) the 4-team format was flawed.

WHY create a plan that:
A - ALWAYS left out 1 conference each year
B - Allowed multiple members from any conference to take multiple slots.

HOW can you determine who’s the best if you prevent participation?

Needs to move to Houston.
Fair point. Then aggie fans could actually have reason to attend since they will never need to worry about their team participating

I believe it’s time to get rid of the SEC championship game. In the era of the college football playoffs, that game does nothing but hurt the SEC. Thoughts?

Who would have been named SEC Champs without the game...and who won the game and was named the SEC Champs?

PS, if your team has never been there or is never going, you have no idea how many injuries were sustained in this extra game, and it completely changed the outcome of the Playoffs. I have learned to loathe this game.

Who did Alabama lose to injury in the SEC Championship game? I honestly don't know.

Losing or being hobbled can be devastating for any championship aspirations. Shaun Dion Hamilton, Tua Tagovailoa, John Metchie, and Landon Dickerson, to name a few off the top of my head.

Georgia had like 3 1/2 weeks before their playoff game. Can't use being beat up after 3 weeks or more have went by.

So giving UGA, Kentucky, SC, & Florida only 1 game to personally schedule depending where GT, Louisville, Clemson, & FSU wind up?

Sure.

Everyone else would be playing similar schedules.

I wasn't questioning to be contrary. I honestly couldn't think of Alabama losing anyone n the SEC Championship game.

Georgia was undefeated going into the SECCG. They lost and ended up destroying FSU in a 63-3 blow out. Not in the playoffs. .
So it’s not true that the SEC runner up always goes to the playoffs. Of course the rules are different for ND. If they were undefeated like UGA was they would have simply walked into the playoffs without having to be in a conference and playing in a conference championship game
