He should have been fired after 09. Crowton is the single reason why I'm not very confident in the 2010 LSU team. LSU will continue to be lower half of the NCAA in offense as long as Crowton stays.

True, but will Les be far behind? I don't think bama has as much to do with Les as the w/l. Did well early but has been in a decline the last 2 seasons. U can loose in any thing but FB. U can't Loose in FB in the south an last very long.

Who gave him the opportunity to make the kind of money that he makes in this sport? Where was he when he went from being nick saban to NICK SABAN?

Yeah, a program with 8 losing seasons in 11 years was a GOLDEN opportunity. Get over yourself.

This has nothing to do with Bama. If you read my post, this was an argument between me and my brother. He has a co-worker who is a big LSU fan. This co-worker said that if Les Miles and LSU lost to Bama and Nick Saban (his words) THIS YEAR, he would be fired. I know a lot of LSU students/alum are on this board. I was just curious as to their response, that's all. Not a case of a gump thinking too highly of themselves.

Apparently it was because it propelled him straight to the NFL. He wasn't really a household name until he was at LSU. I'm sure you'll refute that in whatever illogical way you can, though.

LSU needs to become more competive for the Atlanta trip EVERY yeay, whether or not that includes wins/loses over Bama, FLA, UM, etc. As far as Les's record in trying to do, time will tell and yes he will be let go if the record suffers and Atlanta is not in the picture.

Sources from within the program say 10 wins (including a bowl win), regardless of to whom the losses are, or out.

Bama's always important, but so is UF, AU, etc., etc. Tuscaloosa is still not the center of even the football universe.

Threads like this are pointless. So much can happen during a season. It will all come down to how well this team plays for the coaching staff. If this years team plays well together with few mistakes then we will have successful season. If they don't play well with lots of mistakes and penalties then it could be a disaster.
Who knows?

IMO Les gets fired if he loses 4 games next year and doesnt win the west. It ridiculous to have this much talent and to lose that many games. But alot of this will depend on the how the team performs. Alot of people just want to plug wins and losses on this thing, but that is just not the case. Its how the teams is playing up to their capability. Yeah we went 9-4 last season, which is not terrible but it is not very good either. The main problem is the team only played one really good complete game. That was the Auburn game. We struggled against inferior teams and go figure we lost to the good teams. That is not going to cut it.

I don't think intelligent fans view the Bama game as the test for Miles.

The last two meetings have been unbelievably close and Bama had the better team. I mean if he was getting circles coached around him in those games it would be one thing, but he isn't. I think it can be argued he outcoached Saban in the match ups the last two years.

Most LSU fans want to always be in the top tier of the SEC, compete for SEC and NC titles, win those every now and then. He recruits and outside of 2008 has been extremely successful. Also people knowledgable of our 2008 season know all the shite that just had to go wrong for the result we had.

I expect LSU to compete for the SEC. I think they will most likely finish either first or second in the west and be a top 10 team or higher (at worst top 15 if crazy bad shite happens).

I would say they along with Bama and UF are realisticaly in the NC hunt.
