I'm glad you can see a kids future this well, wait til he's actually playing meaningful snaps before you make these amazing comments.

Let's face it. This board is all about people expressing there opinions. That's all. I am just stating that from my experience the cream usually rises to the top and you can usually spot a "special" talent early on.

problem is, the facts say other wise. Most first round picks did not start as true freshmen, that is a fact. Barron didn't start as a freshman, top 10 pick.

Glad you brought up Barron as an example. He played in every game as a freshman. Not so for Collins.

Yes he has. He's started on special teams every game. Barron was also a starter on special teams and played in garbage time. Rashad Johnson was the starting safety that year.

Barron posted 0 starts at safety in 2008. Barring unforeseen circumstances, Collins will do the same.

Landon Collins has playing in every game at ST, and at S in garbage time.

This thread is just an avenue for LSU fans to be butthurt.

But one of your own claimed he didn't play against W. Ky. Which one of you is misinformed.
And you sure seem grumpy about this intelligent discussion. Are you always this easily irritated.

lol at you. He has played the exact same role Barron did. Every insider has said the coaches are very, very high on him, was running with the 2's in fall camp. You again want so bad for him to bust, it's obvious and really funny.

But besides that, your point about 'the cream rising' as true freshmen is flat out wrong. Fact.

Calm down dude. I was just responding to one of your fellow fans who said Collins didn't start because "Saban would never start a freshman at safety"
My example was that Landry did so because he was a special player.

Didn't intend to ruin your Saturday morning. Go work off your anger by mowing the lawn or something...

Laron Landry was head and shoulders better than what you had at safety when he came in; Collins is nowhere near that much more talented that what Bama has.

If Landry would have come in during Saban's 5th year at LSU instead of his 3rd (?) I doubt he would have started his freshman year as Saban would have had better talent at the position.

The argument about Collins being talented is absurd because if he wasn't, LSU fans would not have been bleeding from the anus when he committed to Bama. Instead, why don't we let the young man play a season or two and get some meaningful snaps and then we can judge him, instead of judging him after only 4 fricking games as a collegiate player.

I see what you're saying....but this just isn't the case all the time....what about Cam Newton...NO ONE knew how good he was going to be...NO ONE...so Don't judge a kid based on 3 games during mop up duty.

Laron Landry says hello. If he is talented enough, Saban will start him.

Even Laron Landry didn't start until 4-5 games into the 2003 season if I am not mistaken.

And so was Mark Barron. But he didn't start until his sophomore year because, as a true freshman, he was playing behind an All-American senior safety in Rashad Johnson.

We already had talent at the safety position when Barron got here. What did LSU look like at that position in 2003 when Landry was a true freshman?

I've already proved how much talent Landry was surrounded with at LSU in earlier posts.
You guys are starting to get angry and speak in insulting terms and I don't want to see any trees get poisoned. We all know how you'll get when you are angry....
I will leave you now so you can grumble amongst yourselves.

Hope you can recover and have a great day!

Is he still expected to be behind Sal's kid at the FS spot?
