Question about the computers..

First.. congrats ( 
) to the Alabama faithful for getting another shot at LSU, we LSU fans appreciate the opportunity to be cemented as one of the GOAT teams. Second.. does anyone think that the computer polls (that will ironically [and shockingly] be the downfall of Ok St)..
Does anyone think that the algorithms/formulas behind specific computer polls are kept secret so that they can be "tweaked" to ensure maximum ratings/cash flow?
Saw it mentioned elsewhere. We all know that professional sports are rigged sometimes. Is CFB any different? Obviously, you don't have control over a current by fighting against it -- you exercise control by steering alongside it.

No. I am sure the black helicopter crowd will disagree but there is no conspiracy.
The folks who developed the various algorithms behind their models own them. It's proprietary. No reason to release to public so that it could be tweaked or duplicated and have some genius math guy take their work improve it knock them out of BCS models.
That said it is reasonable that there be some official audit or double check to ensure confidence that the numbers are accurate and not fiddled with to create a certain outcome.

The experts have said all along that it would be very very difficult for OSU to jump Bama even if they beat OU and VT lost. But now you're all surprised.

I'm not shocked at ALL about the human polls. I am shocked about the computers. Make no mistake about it.. if Oklahoma St had regained their lead in the computers (which is what is confusing to me, as it was an almost universal agreement that they would) they would have been in based on the coaches poll/harris.
If the wolfe poll rumor is wrong and Ok St is #2, they're probably in the championship game. I'm pretty sure it's legit though and we will NEVER know what caused Alabama to get a large jump for being a poorly ranked team while Ok St beat a top team for near no jump whatsoever.. because those formulas are private, as ridiculous as that is.

If they could be improved -- should they not be?

According to Brad Edwards, Bama still would have edged OSU even if they'd only been ahead in 1 computer.
