Don't think so. Greg McElroy is from the same system Chase Daniel is from, and his one throw in the endzone looked pretty good yesterday.
Ii think McElroy is at least as good as JPW he just needs some experience. The advantage he has is that he will be a redshirt junior next year not a freshman. I think he will play much like Flynn played for LSU last year. I don;t look for much of a drop of from BAMA next year at any position, in fact I think oour team will probably be better than they are this year. It will hurt losing Caldwell at center and losing Andre Smith if he goes in the draft. It will also hurt losing Rashad at safety but I think we will fill those holes nicely in the offseason.

What about that kid Star Jackson?

We had a QB issue this year. John Parker Wilson isn't a great QB. His greatest improvement this year -- not turning the ball over.
Last year, we lost to Miss. St. when our QB threw an interception just before half-time. We lost against LSU last year when our QB turned the ball over at the end of the game. Sound familiar?
The difference this year -- a better coach (Jim McElwain), a better offensive system, and a team around him that could play so he didn't have to win every game for us. In most of our wins this year, JPW only had to manage the game and not give it away.
McElroy is a redshirt sophomore who is thoroughly familiar with McElwain's offense. Had a great high school career. But you're right -- he is inexperienced at this level and untested. But I do believe he is better than what you have had to deal with this year. Only time will tell.
It is possible to win with an inexperienced QB. LSU won a national championship with an inexperienced QB named Matt Flynn.
But I am touched that LSU fans are concerned about our QB.

Star will be a good QB at BAMA he is just young and will need to develop. I think we will see him come in some next year as a back up.

Bama will be in the same boat where have been in this year. No proven QB. We all now how poorly Saban handled the QB position at LSU. (i.e. Booty / Davey and Russell / Randall. Can't wait until next year
Actually Greg Mcelroy is the play caller for our offense, knows the system well, has a great deep ball and can read a defense which, well, is more than i can say for Lee. I think we will have some let down next year but Saban has done a great job coaching up this year's freshman crop, but if i remember correctly Matt Mauck was not all that polished and he managed to win a ring......

Bama losing Andre Smith and Antoine Caldwell will hurt far more than JPW. Their bread and butter is running the ball and these guys pave the way. They also lose another SR on the OL. Thats prolly the 3 best OL and the QB all gone, plus Stover at WR, and thier second best reciever is a SR TE Walker. Thats alot of offense.
Guess you have not heard of 4 star OL John Micheal Boswell, 5 star OL Tyler Love or the fact our 5 star freshman WR Julio jones who caught 7 for 128 yards against you.....

Not with the way they play defense.

I don't know what real, so-called, or bandwagoner fans worry about more..., LSU coaching or if Bama is going to frick up.

Well it's not like Wilson has been amazing, he is still under 60% I believe. they have a stud recuit at QB, AJ McCarron, and then they always have McElroy... Star Jackson could be in the mix.
They'll be alright, especially with their running game and defense.

Recruiting ratings don't necessarily translate into instant production.

Quite true. But the right coach who knows how to properly harvest and focus each individual's talent can make quite a splash. Just look at what CNS has been able to accomplish so far this year.
It's true that we will lose JPW and a number of seniors. But consider that we only have 9 scholarship seniors, and their vacancies will be filled by players already waiting in the wings. I don't really anticipate any substantial drop in talent. To the contrary, I think we'll be fine.

I agree. JPW is a class act who took more blame and received less credit than he deserved. He hung in there, took the heat, worked hard to improve, and lead us to an undefeated regular season.

McElroy looked good yesterday. I think he'll be fine. And our schedule definitely works in our favor next year. Most of the big games are at home and we drop UGA.
I think we stand a good chance at repeating as SEC West champs.
