Sure, We can take out the UTEP game where Arch threw for 114 yards. You can take out Reeds game against State (180 yards which is his worst performance). Congrats, Arch closed the gap even more.

I don’t think Reed wins it, but if they reach the end of the season undefeated, and his play remains consistent, he’s likely a finalist. And rightfully so.

I don’t think Reed is elite, but the competition is not far and away better IMO.

On the watch list is OSU and Indiana QBs. He’s higher than both for of them for total offense on the season #20. He’s also done it against better defenses.

How about you take out the FCS game, huh?

Texas does not play FCS opponents. They haven't in several years.

My apologies, the team that was FCS two years ago. You know, the game where Arch proved he was a manly man.

Oh so you just didn't know what you were talking about.

I took out Mannings worst game against a G5 and took out Reeds worst game against a P4. Kinda weird that you didn't like the outcome of that so you want to pick and choose what games to remove.

You want to remove conference games for what reason?

SEC stats are somewhat comparable.

Sam Houston stats are not comparable.

Plus Texas has played 1 more cupcake. So total game stats would be silly to compare.

You could do conference games on a per game basis.

Reed is night and day better than he was last year. I expect Arch will have similar growth next year.

Arch got off to a historically terrible start. With virtually no help around him. He's had 5 extremely solid quarters. We'll see how much he's figured out this weekend.

Arch had a better OL last year. Simple as that.

I think Arch could still end up being pretty good. Hard not to with the talent around him. I still take Reed if given the choice.

Manning defeated two SEC teams who are currently 4-2 and 3-2 in conference play. Reed's best conference win is against a team who is currently 2-3 in conference play, so Reed should look much better than Arch.

How? Texas lost to Florida yes, but what does that have to do with stats?

Your reading comprehension is poor

It clearly says Arch PLAYED in 10 games

No I understood what you were trying to do, and it was dumb. Playing 1 or 2 downs in 7 of those 10 games is hardly playing. Meanwhile Reed started 8 games.

See what you were trying to do was make it seem like Arch is more experienced than Reed, when in reality Reed has a lot more experience under his belt than Arch. Just dumb.

It has nothing to do with stats.
And everything to do with logic.

If you think Reed’s numbers should look better BASED ON the teams they played… Then look at a team they BOTH played.

That way you cannot discount Reed’s numbers as being against inferior competition.

I would rather have Reed. Im sure you would rather have Arch.

Neither QB is elite and they both miss easy throws and are inconsistent. Similar passers but Reed is more of a running threat and seems like a better team leader. I may be biased though.

I was probably one of the early “Arcih sucks” bandwagoneers. Arch has been pretty good the last three games.(what’s surprising is how bad the much ballyhooed Texas defense sux..101 points allowed against inferior competition the last 4 games.) I posted on tRant, just last week, that the jury was still out on Arch. The similarities between Arch and Marvel are amazing. Both were backup QBs last year. Both are running threats…neither can throw a long ball accurately. My opinion is they are closer as QBs than anyone realizes, the difference being the offensive lines for each team and Reed is a better baller than Arch. Manning reverts to that sidearm dirt throw and deer in the headlights look, late in tight games, Reed thrives.
