Lol, I clicked on this thread and jumped to the very last post, and it’s about Russian literature. I love it. This place. It’s troubled, but I like it. I once had a girlfriend that loved Dostoevsky’s complete takedown of determinism and proof of free will in Notes from the Underground. I read Crime and Punishment and liked it, but that’s about where you’ll leave me in any discussion of it. I’m a simple guy. I read and think but just not on that level.

It's a reflection of a small subset of humanity that I happen to belong to, as do most of us. It is infinitely entertaining.

ETA: We are fellow travelers, really. For the most part, this place is Southern, male, and educated, with a very vile and crass streak, but good natured in the end. It's like a digital congregation for assholes with a heart of gold and an autistic obsession over sports.

All I have to read is The Gambler and I’m finished with the complete works. Want to get Joseph Frank’s 5 volume set of his biography.

Is there any other way to enjoy a thread on this board that isn't obviously an information thread?

Which is honestly of no interest to me. I read either autobiographies and/or military history or books that support a particular Bible principle I am examining. Just started reading one tonight on the Post-Tribulation “gathering of the Saints.”

You should read it because it diagnoses exactly the age we are in.

What particular Bible principle? I’ve got my MDiv.

Things have gotten a little too light-hearted since y'all burnt Saban in effigy his first year.

My good baw, if you want to talk football, Chrysostom, literature, and shoot a bunch of guns in the woods...you're a Southerner in spirit if not by birth.

Lol man y’all are good people, nothing to be heavy hearted about since getting the monkey off our back last year. It’s usually my favorite game of the year. We may get killed tomorrow, but I could see our defense stepping up and keeping it closer than most think. Just hope our offense can do diddly shite. Last week was brutal to watch
