Public Service Thread: Considering Both Teams Lost, will the punt Experts please Stop.

In order to understand why these 'experts' are explaining why punting was the right decision, you first need to know how these guys operate.
This is a tactic to appear intelligent by resisting the overwhelming consensus that punting was an absolute terrible thing to do.
Using the Arkansas game, because this perfectly fits the 'experts' model.
They are on forums and sports talk all over spewing their theory.
Remember, this isn't about being correct, the intent is to appear 'above emotions' and analytical.
They are absolutely, 100% wrong, and the facts are not on their side.
In similar circumstances, Punting reduced AR chances to 7%, which is a statistical miracle win. 4TH down try gives a paltry 17%, statistically low but 2.42X higher chance.
However, for a coach at AR this decision is not about analytics or percentages.
AR has been losing close games for 5 years, the program is struggling to grasp any any gasp of hope. A 1st down then a loss would have been a moment of hope. Even if Tenn had scored, the fans would see a coach believing in his team, a team believing in their coach.
In reality this game was lost on the stupid 2nd and 3rd down play calls.
AR would have 100% lost whether they punt or go for it.
This play was about giving AR players and fans a reason to believe that the 3rd quarter was a peek at things to come.
Fans didn't see a coach making a calculated decision to increase win chances, they and the team watched a coach give up, and quit to by 7 as opposed to trying amd risking 14.
Fans saw Chad and Sam Sat.
