Simple premise, project your opening day lineup for your team. Reasoning & discussion are always appreciated. Maybe even list some other guys that may get some PT or have a chance at it this weekend. & Talk about new guys in lineup who weren't part of the program or didn't play last year.
I'll start with SC:
SS Mooney (JUCO Transfer, younger brother of Peter Mooney. Former SS of 2011 National Title team)
2B Schrock
3B Pankake
1B Martin
C Greiner
LF Caldwell (JUCO Transfer)
DH Widener (True Freshman)
RF Bright
CF English
Others that may have an impact:
SS/3B DC Arendas - battle for SS spot with Mooney may go to 3B for his bat & have Pankake go to LF, or he could DH
DH Celek - DH'd plenty of times last season, had some big games & hits throughout his career.

Seems like Joey Pankake has been at SC for forever.
ETA: And Tanner English.. and I never get tired of watching Greiner throw the ball back to the pitcher.

Unfortunately all 3 will be gone after this year, assuming they will be very high draft picks.

You are the poster that brought us all the info last year aren't you? Keep posting.

Don't know. But Serrano was talking a lot of shite today on the radio.
Said he's coached 3 teams to the CWS and this team has more potential than any of them, talked about how they should be in the preseason top 25, how embarrassing the last 2 years have been, etc. Sounded extremely confident.
Last 2 years you would have thought he was coaching a special ed team the way he downplayed them preseason.

I don't regularly cover UT baseball & don't know a ton, but Dave Serrano is confident with a capital C about this year's team.

Maybe.
Just noticed this.
ETA: Interesting, I expect Serrano to get them going here soon. Last year was a complete rebuilding as he cleaned house & brought in a ton of freshman. Guess we'll see how things play out.

Yep. Don't know much about our roster, but seems like he is very confident in our lineup. Our pitching has been horrendous recently. Sounds like Serrano is going to be the guy on Friday nights.

1. Robson - 9
2. Pirtle - 4
3. Detz - 5
4. Rea - 3
5. Humphreys - DH
6. Bradford - 8
7. Henderson - 7
8. Britton - 6
9. Randolph - 2
On the hill - this guy:
Expect Gavin Collins and Daniel Garner to challenge for the catcher spot -- Jake Vickerson and Joey Swinarski to challenge for a corner outfield spot -- Seth Heck and Kyle Hann to challenge for a middle infield spot -- and Humphreys to play 3rd alot...
Addl SPs:
Sat - Fitz(in his same role as last year -- once or twice through the lineup then to Lindgren in place of Girodo).
Sat - Bracewell for now(we play 4 game weekends early)
Sun - either Sexton or Hudson(I expect the "winner" of this battle to be the eventual Sun starter)

Cohen said that Chris Stratton and Brandon Woodruff have been talking. Cohen thinks that Woodruff is doing things better than Strat was.

Hope to see Kevin Davis get some innings this year. Played against him in high school and the guy is just sick

Gushue C
Shafer LF
Martin SS
Tobias 3B
Lombardozzi CF (Freshman)
Oren DH (Freshman)

I suspect the starting pitchers for Sat & Sun will be Kish and Harris. We have no seniors this year, but 3 RS JRs.

I am really liking our weekend rotation.
I have heard great things about Crowe.
We all know Monty is elite and I think Wynkoop is going to build off of last year and be a stud this year
