I'm a Tennessee alum, but I was never crazy about or campus. Some of the buildings are really nice, but there's too many run-down buildings that sorely need repairs, buildings that have absolutely no character whatsoever, and ugly buildings that were probably designed by hippie stoner architects.
Allow me to present:
The Humanities Building, where I spent most of my 4 years. Meh.
The new business school. Very nice indeed.
Ayres Hall is the second oldest building on campus, I believe, and kind of a symbol of UT. It's nice, but the inside has been up for renovation since the Ford administration, and it shows.
This is a view of the new Hodges Library from the Humanities courtyard. It's okay.
I couldn't find a picture of the Art + Architecture building, probably because no one would ever want a student considering either major to ever see it ever, but it's basically a big concrete block. Ugly as frick.

From the pics, the modern parts of OSU's campus remind me of U of Cincinnati
I can see that with some of the lines and angles.
FWIW, I really like UC's campus quite a bit. I just hate the fact that if you take a step off campus, you're already in a questionable area. Ten steps and you're pretty much guarenteed to be in the ghetto.

Isn't that kinda like how Southern Cal is?

same can be said for the north side of LSU's campus.
Cincy's rec center is incredible and I love the way the football stadium just appears below you. I was just walking around their campus and suddenly found myself standing at the top row of the stands.

You no like? I think it's nice, especially when it's lit up at night. But maybe I'm biased because you never saw the old one

It is pretty sweet. One of my favorites for sure(I like the RPAC better though.

+1.
It just shows up out of thin air if you're coming from the right angle. I love how they built it into the campus like that. I heard yesterday(in another thread) that it was the lowest point of the campus.

The old one was worse?

CEBA, where Business and Engineering is housed, is an ugly monstrosity. This is the best pic I could find (it's on the left). This side of campus is definitely a bit run-down and in need of renovations.
they're building a new Business College complex right next door though which should be really nice.

Oh and whoever designed the union and old law school probably should be hung up by their toes.
LSU or Ole Miss?

OSU's campus and surroundings looks pretty cool.
That LSU upperdeck throws me.
And I agree about that building with two arches. Poorly executed.
Just about every campus I've been to has several regrettable buildings from the 60s and 70s. At least we're not like TAMU where the entire giant campus looks like an office park out of Office Space.

Ohio State looks very nice.
LSU and Arky do too. Never been to either, but hope to make it there one day.

I could see where people might not be too thrilled with South Carolina's campus in comparison to some of the other SEC campuses. There are some nice aspects to the older part of campus, such as the horseshoe and having the capitol building on the edge, but much of the buildings are split up within the city, so you often don't feel like you are on a university campus. The horseshoe has huge trees and old buildings that housed union troops during the civil war. Pretty nice area during the spring with the birds, squirrels, and hawks that live in the big trees. I attended classes there for 3 semesters as an undergraduate before transferring, so I am very familiar with that campus and LSU's. I've also walked around UGA and Tennessee a few times. UGA's is nice, but it's not going to really wow you. Tennessee is okay too. Nothing real special, but the drive through the mountains to get there is excellent, especially in the early fall. Although I have attended games at some of the others, I couldn't give an educated opinion on the campuses. Of the three that I have spent some time on, I have to say that LSU is the best overall. Huge moss-covered trees everywhere, great flora and fauna (many exotic plants), the lake and tower, the indian mounds (a cultural relic despite you might think of it aesthetically), the beautiful buildings in the middle of the campus, Mike's living area, and the classical aspects of the stadium and old ampitheater. I'm sure there are other great SEC campuses, some perhaps as nice and interesting as LSU's, but I can't imagine one being better all things considered than LSU's.

Ole Miss.
It's too bad they couldn't tear down the old law school to build the new one.

I can't imagine SC being too high on anyone's list. Our campus is right in the middle of the city and there are times where you can hardly tell your on a campus. However we do have patches on that college feel.. particularly on what is known as the SC Horseshoe (it is the place of where our campus was originally built and is still used for classes and such so it was before OSUs Horseshoe so
)
It is also used in all of SC's commercials during games..
