You must have missed it when the Rivals guy admitted that Rivals ranks kids depending on what school they are considering and commit to.
What percentage of 5 stars go pro? 3 stars? There's your answer. And thats because guys like nick saban and bob stoops etc know what the frick they're doing.
quote:
But I wouldn't expect you to remember that considering you're a star gazer Rivals hugger.
Yeah, cause nick saban gets alot of those stars and has the most talent in ncaa.

Losing Record against LSU winning Record against the one of the corner stone programs of the old SEC Ole Miss.
This is why we laugh and call you pathetic. Ole Miss is not a "cornerstone" sec program, but pleae let me use this as a sig line.
quote:
As for winning championships the SEC was the first "Super Conference", uncharted waters. Ole Miss sure hasn't done anything. Florida is NOT the Florida of the old SEC. TV contracts let schools with tremendous talent pools to have an advantage.
Bama and tennessee were geting respect long before TV. LSU and Auburn, Georgia Tech. etc. etc. all before TV.
quote:
Scholarship limits evened the playing field traditional powers couldn't horde players.
Yeah thats why the SEC has 9 titles in limited scholly era.
quote:
Arkansas has underachieved since joining the SEC but the game has drastically changed compared to 1992.
20 yers isnt underachieving, its just who you are.
Use the sig line you'll look stupid. Ole Miss was a better program pre-1980 than Florida and isn't even close.
Ole Miss is a Cornerstone of the Old SEC, exactly what I said.
"Throughout the 115-year history of Ole Miss football, the Rebels have won six Southeastern Conference titles (1947, 1954, 1955, 1960, 1962, and 1963); they also have a claim to 3 national championships (1959, 1960, 1962)."
Florida's first SEC championship was in 1991, FIRST!!
Arkansas has underachieved and Ole Miss fell off the map and was replaced by Florida.

And before 1980 you had a losin record to mississippi, so what exactly are you bragging about?

Funny, it wasnt until thn you actually managed a winning record over ole miss. like i said, yall hd a losing record to them back when they were actually decent.

And when both were good (ole miss pre 1980 forida post 1980) they were both better than Arky. So whats your point?

With the worst decade in school history, 90's included, we are still a top 25 team in almost every single category. Half of the SEC and 70% of the country can't say that.

Arkansas was 12-15 against Ole Miss from 1894-1980, don't act like it was dominance, ha ha. Both where good Programs. Florida was like Virginia Tech, who? as was Vanderbilt, MSU, Kentucky and Tulane are some of the worst programs of all time. Baylor and TCU have a lot more conference championships with more conference games.
5 of your 10 SEC teams pre-1980 were some of the worst all-time programs, heck some still are today. Do not act like the SEC was so tough with only 5 or 6 conference games and 10 teams and they never played each other hardly.
P.s. TCU won the SWC 7 times.
Baylor won the SWC 5 times.
Auburn won the SEC 7 times.
G-Tech won the SEC 5 times.
Stop with the SEC was powerful crap, it wasn't ANYTHING like it is today.
Posted on 7/28/11 at 2:28 am to secfan123
can someone post arkansas' opponents winning percentage versu that of a comparable sec team during the same time period?
not sure how you find that kind of stat

Auburn is as good as they've ever been and Florida is the best the've ever been in the past decade.
Being the 7th best, now, in the SEC is good for a top 20 spot all time. That is really good considering how many teams are in D1.

1. Today winning record.
2. Not True, they have as many titles as G-Tech and Auburn do.
3. Not True Arkansas has played LSU more than LSU has played Auburn. Arkansas has played Ole Miss more than Ole Miss played Alabama.
4. The SEC is much tougher now, not then.
UGA and LSU have played 28 times in history, Are you SERIOUS WITH THIS shite, ha ha ha ha!!!
Holly cow that is ultra sad.
UGA and Tennessee have only played 39 times, ever. WTF!
This is so sad I'm e-mailing myself this thread to use against this stupid argument in the future.

These stats are still meaningless. I really dont get youre point. We played ole miss lot back in the day! had a losing reord to them, but played them alot! We played LSU alot back in the day! had a losing record, but we played them alot!
Essentialy, you're bragging bout a losing record. thts just funny.

Go back to the Toyota Plant.
1. Arkansas was in another Conference for 75 years! Having played 1 team, let alone 2, in a different conference shows the SEC had no round robin system or real champions, therefore your 3 way splits and SEC teams playing each other in bowl games was a complete Joke.
If you do not understand that 75 years in a different conference playing a round robin while having more series with another conference team than their own in-conference competition, you are just to stupid to talk to.
2. I've already said 7th all time in the SEC is a top 20 all time in the nation, not bad at all!
P.S. Arkansas skipped decades of playing both LSU and Ole Miss which makes it even more pathetic.
