Solid list but I have a hard time believing Arkansas will not be somewhere in the top ten in terms of rushing defense.

Agreed. Believe they'll be top 5. I do believe LSU will push 'Bama for the top-ranked defense overall.

A&M had the nations 4th ranked secondary with a converted running back playing corner.

They will easily be top 5 in the SEC this year

Good list. Regarding Tennessee's passing defense, I think there's tons of reason to believe it good be top 5, especially with Cam Sutton returning, Gaulden who is by all accounts expected to be great assuming he doesn't get derailed by injury again, and a lot of other players who have show major talent in games having gained experience plus a new DC whose specialty is defense. Not to mention a healthy Barnett + the other DE not being thrown into the fire due to the starter being hurt (a great pass rush masks secondary deficiencies and can make a good secondary great).

We will definitely be more talented in the secondary than we've been in ages. That said, we've got to fill the hole at out two safety slots but more importantly we have to fill the leadership/QB of the secondary role that outgoing Safety Brian Randolph filled and to put it in perspective Randolph became the all-time career games leader with this year's bowl game with 53 games.

Todd Kelly Jr. is the favorite to take Randolph's role. He is more talented and is whip smart (biomedical engineering major/future med school student if football doesn't work out but football will def. workout barring injury).

But filling both safety roles is still tough despite our likely candidates having plenty of experience in a backup role.

A UF fan put UT in the top 5 in every single category.
