Ya but it just isn't fair to say that. How many teams player a tougher 5 games than Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Arkansas, and Clemson? You're playing some stacked teams in the hardest division in college football.

quote:

AU should have a really good d-line. Last year it was really young and depleted by injuries. The secondary should be vastly improved as well. Combine that with much superior D coaching and a big jump in on field results would not be surprising, IMO.

I do agree there and I think Lemonier takes the next step as well.

Offensively, the o-line should be much better, we have a stable of talented RB's and TE's. We have 1 really good WR and some with lots of promise. The only thing keeping us from making that big jump from being bad to being pretty dang good is the big ? at QB (and OC).

Lot of question marks here.

Here are the Vegas lines, as first tweeted by Andrew Gribble of the Knoxville News Sentinel. Here, we present Auburn versus...

Mississippi State a 1-point favorite
Clemson a 5-point favorite
South Carolina a 9-point favorite
Arkansas a 9-point favorite
Florida a 3-point favorite
LSU 11-point favorite
Georgia a 9-point favorite
Alabama a 12-point favorite

Found here
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that 8 games we were supposed to lose?

Now then we play 12 regular season games. So....
12 - 8 = 4

well, i think you can see how it "could" lead to a loss.

other than my 14-0 dicking around prediction i have never said we'd even win that game. I just don't see where the other side (which apparently is bama and a&m fans) are so confident for the aggies. It will be their first legitimate road game (unless we're calling vaught hemingway a tough sec venue)

We will win 9 or 10 this year - I predict 10. We'll likely lose to LSU but will surprise Bama and beat em in TTown (by 7 to 10 points). The the other loss comes unexpectedly to someone everyone thinks we'll beat. If I had to choose that one I'd say Vandy at this point. They're always good for a shocker.

Not really. Just 1 big one (QB) and 1 smaller one (OC).

We get quality QB play and we can win any game on our schedule. We get QB play like last year and we will have a season only slightly better than last year's.

Correct but Vegas had them at 6.5 for the over/under. That was their prediction. Even teams that are favored in every game will rarely be picked to have a perfect record due to the nature of probabilistics. So the 6.5 wins is what Vegas predicted at the beginning of the season which Auburn exceeded.

1. very good OL. i dont think this can be understated. they are experienced and talented. OL is usually a very good predictor of how good a team will be.

2. I like the way they played against Arky last year. they shite the bed in the 2nd half but they earned my respect that game. Michael had 230 yards rushing,

3. not sure what Auburn can/will do on offense this year. If Frazier comes out and has a great start to the season then i might think differently. But last i checked Frazier was awful

so you are predicting a win against Bama, but a loss to Vandy?

And he may still be awful, but he was set up to fail with the way he was used last season. This and the failure to get the talented young o-lineman more reps is my biggest complaint about the AU coaches so far under Chiz(excluding Roof).

He has the physical ability and is a smart kid, so I am hopeful that it will translate when put in a better position.

With Cammy Cam y'all almost did not survive starkville...sure you have won close games but don't over look state or it will bite all of you in the arse. Y'all are as delusional as the Arky fans

You don't have a proven QB. Your RB hasn't had a 1000 yard season in 3 years. You only haven't had good production from the 2/3 receivers. The OL is full of Freshman and Sophs. I really think there are more questions that you admit. Beyond that, the QB and OC are both massive questions. When you're talking about a team that was ranked over 100 on offense in a heavy defensive conference, I'd just have a hard time being as confident as you.

I look at Alabama and we had a really strong team last year. I think the offense will be improved because of the experience on OL and the QB. The RB is obviously a downgrade. I look at the defense and it reminds me a lot of 2010. We lost 3 of our 4 secondary guys. There is a lot of talent but there is no way I could predict a title without a lot of blind faith. Bama will be in the running but replacing that much in one group is tough. Half the Bama fans on here will say it doesn't matter because of Saban.

It's is easy to be optimistic in June but it is fair to look at flaws too.

Holy shite...tell me we didn't go 14 pages and this si the first cam reference.

Also what gives with the msu fan chastising anyone for pre season chest thumping.

Best part of MSU's season that year...only losing to auburn by a little bit.

Using a moral victory form 2 years ago from a game before the coaches even new what they had with Cam is a bit of a stretch.

You are probably right, but it gets to be a boy who cried wolf situation after a while.

This is tough to hear form a State fan.

Delusional eh? You Moo State fans....have won 0 games against west teams not named Ole Miss the past 3 years. You have no grounds to troll against Auburn or any other team from the West. Thanks

I don't think 7 to 8 regular season wins is doom playing in the SEC West and taking Clemson on the schedule. I really didn't mean it that way. Its just a really hard schedule.

I did not think of it as a moral victory you fricking moron it was a loss DUHHH!!!!. I really don't give a frick what you think your coaches knew. Obviously they knew newton was good if he was starting. As a state fan I expect anywhere from 6-8 wins which is fair I think. I've never been on here saying we will go undefeated or anything. But your fan base as a whole thinks you all will win 9 or more games this year from what it seems . Sorry if you guys get 8 I think you are lucky.
