oh so now you guys admit football started before 1990.
"You guys"?
First of all, where you from, boy?
Second of all, I'm a third generation LSU man and I've been a fan since 1970. I remember LSU beating Notre Dame back in '71, and beating Ole Miss in the last tenth of a second in '72. I remember my heart breaking after losing to Bama in '79. I remember pounding Bear's arse in '82. I remember the oranges at the FSU game that same year. I was in the student section for the Earthquake game as a junior at LSU.
No, it's the REST of the league that seems to think LSU never played football before 1990 - even though LSU had winning records vs all the other teams besides UA and UT. You'd think they'd remember not having much success against the Tigers until the 90s.

Do you know how many teams we've played since 1900? Are we suppose to consider each one of those our riveals? Jesus......
I'm not the one who stated that as a criteria. I just pointed out that the series between LSU and Bama is only two years short of the series with Auburn, and the exact same number of games. You psoted: We already have UT and UA that's been going on for a century. as if that is sufficient criteria for your rivalry with AU. I pointed out that LSU shares similar numbers, but I don't assume that Auburn isn't more of a rival than LSU for Bama.
These rival threads are much better than the schedule threads, it's fun watching Bamatards get all worked up over who considers them a rival.
The fact is that over the years I've noticed that Bama fans are the most ignorant of SEC history outside of their team than any other fanbase of a team that was in the league before 1992.

I like to come to this board and just wallow in the love. It gives me a sense of well being that I lack in my day-to-day living otherwise.

Like you said, save UT and UA, that's about all many remember.

I just think A&M is just the flavor of the month now, them haven't really paid dues in the SEC yet. Pollack is right, LSU and Alabama are the tops right now withe different being quarterback stability, its not talent. Number 2 I think is Clemson and S. Carolina.

This is true. Promixity, and LSU recruits big time in the DFW. IT has the potential to be a great one.

"The best rivalry in college football right now is LSU and Alabama"? Well, except that LSU/Alabama has not been a "rivalry" per se. Intensely competitive, yes, over the past few years. Alabama's rivals are Auburn and Tennessee, and LSU's are Ole Miss, Texas A&M and perhaps Arkansas.
