Don’t cry because you left Vol blood all over South Carolina’s stadium.
Good teams don’t get splattered by bad ones, and you did. It’s been a long time since you fielded a decent team, be happy you made the top 10.

I'll take a stab at it:
Because the committee feels Alabama is the better team on a neutral field at the time said rankings were released.

Yes. UT beat Alabama at home by 3 points. Close game.
SC beat UT badly as did UGA.
What hurt UT was how badly they got beat.

12 games ON THE FIELD are considered.
Top 4 teams in SEC by over all rankings
1.UGA
2.UT
3.LSU
4.Bama
Again UT played same amount of games and still finished ahead of Bama in overall conference standings. When the SEC does away with divisions next year it will truly be the top 2 teams playing for the SEC championship.

That’s not a thing. You are making shite up to explain away 2 blowout losses.

is that because of the head to head? I would think that two divisional losses would be more detrimental than 1 divisional loss, and one non-divisional loss, but I guess not? Furthermore, since LSU has the head to head against us, then why are they 4 and us 3?

Rank all the SEC teams in order by record from top to bottom please? Yes I am aware we have divisions with in the conference. But rank the teams from 1st to last in the conference.

Let’s take a look:
UT got beat by the hottest team in the country by 4 TDS.
UT was the hottest team in the country when they beat Alabama by 3 points.
Had your team beaten South Carolina they would have a decent chance to go to the playoffs.

1 - Georgia, unless they lose to LSU in the title game. Then 1 would be LSU.
2-14 - doesn’t matter.

My mistake. Your right bama is 4 in the overall standings in the SEC according to conference records. I fixed it for ya.

Since you said please,, and if you recall,
South Carolina hung 63 on UT which has to make UT fans happy they are ranked at all, no matter the order or position.

They’re a better team.
Next question.
Next question.

It’s not made up at all. And I most definitely didn’t make up the standings. It you not willing to do it tells me you already know what the outcome of the overall standings looks like. But it’s all good, Sankey has already said that division play will most likely go away once Texas and Oklahoma join. Then if there is a conference Championship game without division then the true top 2 teams will play.

Tennessee lost more recently, in way more emphatic manner, and is now without their marquee QB.
Even if LSU had beaten Fla State (and thus finished 10-2), they'd still rank behind Bama after losing to A&M. That's why when you lose is as important, maybe moreso, than who you lose to.

Same reason LSU is ranked ahead of FSU. Next question.

Red should always outrank orange.

Blown out by South Carolina will do that.
