Yeah, but the thread poster meant never been a coordinator OR head coach, so Coach O not really eligible for this.

I honestly think we might be seeing a shift in what qualities are valued in a HC. Obviously Pittman wasn’t our first choice and we would have preferred a sitting HC, but 10 years ago this hire wouldn’t have been possible. Hiring a likeable guy that can surround himself with the Xs and Os coaches might become a popular strategy.

Matt Luke was an OL/Assistant HC (in title only). We hired not one, but two position coaches.
