Petrino is one of the best offensive minds in the country, his weakness is his defense.
If you go back and look at his Louisville teams, they fielded good defensive teams his last 3 years there(if I'm remembering correctly). They were something like top 15-35 all three of those years in team defense.
I'm just interested to see if he sticks by Willy Robinson (3rd choice DC). Or does he recognize that WR has pretty much nothing to work with...should be interesting.

Here is my take on Petrino:
He took a scorched earth football program and won 5 games in year one. Lombardi and Bear Bryant would have been hard pressed to get 6 wins with that squad, that also had the #7 Strength of Schedule in the country.
In year two he won 8 games, to include a bowl, with what still amounted to the youngest team in America, with the #4 strength of schedule.
In year three I believe reasonable expectations range from 8 wins pre-bowl, to 10 or 11 post Bowl. I think at least a one win improvement is ahead, putting us at 9 wins worst case scenario.
Our program is improving every year and that's all I'm asking for. We've actually never been in better shape. We're looking at a Top 15 pre-season ranking and have depth all over the field. The defense needs to improve, but the overall W/L column is going to be better either way.
We're looking at more wins in year 3 than year 2, and more wins in year 2 than year 1. I have zero complaints.

Maybe if we had destroyed ECU yesterday. But we didn't. We've done nothing our last two games to really impress anyone. I can't see being a top 15 preseason. Top 25 would be generous.
