I think most were leaning toward UTSA being the next Texas school to pop off the queue. But it should be Texas State. UTSA is a commuter school, they don't even have their own stadium. If Texas State beats Arizona State tonight - which could happen - they will get the phone call.
As much as I want Texas State in this league I just don’t think there is any value of them going there by themselves. If Texas State goes I think they would have to bring UTSA with them that way they can have the SA market. UTSA may not have their own stadium but playing in the Alamodome has some advantages. Pretty big game tonight for TXST though

This doesn’t make any sense. The Pac 12 and Mountain West conferences should just merge. It would create a better result for the conferences and for the landscape of college football in my opinion.

Add Wyoming, Idaho. Utah State, and the 2 montana schools and it would be a pretty good conference.

But how we feel is irrelevant. It’s whether the committee updates the rules and recognizes them as a power conference. Then they would take an auto bid, might even expand to 16 team playoffs tbh. If we go to 16 teams, then bowl games need to go away. No one will watch them.
I disagree. People will watch and bet on bowl games and schools will gladly take the money from them and conferences will except their share of the money. It also gives local economies a boost.
No need to do away with them.

Most big city schools are commuter, kids live with their folks as opposed to true college towns where they start in dorms
