In all seriousness, if it's private property, how can they legally do that? The only way I could see the sign being forced down would be if it's in an HOA, but otherwise come on.

That looks like it's in a neighborhood that most likely has an HOA. I'm going to guess the complex has a policy about hanging signs in general and someone complained. I did a quick search on local Oxford city ordinances and didn't find anything regarding obscene language on signs like some municipal laws elsewhere have in them. It also may be too big. Oxford does have an ordinance regarding the size of a temporary sign on residential property. It can be no larger than 6 ft x 4 ft
