I think LSU is an awesome gameday atmosphere, especially with the yats. But a coordinated atmosphere it is not. BR is all over the place on game day, not really any logistical symmetry.
WTF? you want cooregraphed dancing?

u've never been to a game in TS if you think it's full of yats. i can promise you that. u must've just learned that term and wanted to use it

Don't think I could do Oxford every weekend but I had a lot of fun. BR I could do every weekend...

I have to ask what you (as an aTm fan) like about BR?

It's obviously worlds different than College Station, but I had a fantastic time there and it didn't have the some of the misplaced arrogance Oxford had. People were very friendly when I actually talked to them. The tailgating at LSU, in my opinion, is also second to none in terms of food and overall atmosphere, and I love tailgating.

The Grove is the single most over rated gameday experience in the SEC. I've been 3 times, and have never been impressed.
Well Arkansas games always kick off at 11:20. I'm sorry the Grove wasn't a shitfest at 9:00 AM when half the town is still hungover.
If we'd actually kick off at night against the Razorbacks then I imagine you'd have a different feeling.

Grown-arse people don't play drinking games. We drink. We don't need a novelty to make drinking any more exciting.
Basically you're butthurt because the Grove isn't a fraternity party or Disney World. It's what grownups do.

Yea, if you drink in Oxford it's got to be in a cup or it gets poured out like your on a high school field trip. Also the bars close at 12 or 1, and some of the bigger ones like to charge a $20 cover. It's absurd.
The only one that charges that is the Library, and that's because the people who go to and enjoy that bar are stupid enough to pay it.

I've been to Tuscaloosa, vandy, auburn, Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida, lsu, ole miss, and msu. The only place worse than oxford is starkville and maybe Lexington. The grove was terrible. I like to be able to move around when I tailgate. I went to oxford in 09. I think ole miss was ranked at the time. So don't give me the "we were terrible at the time" speech.
So literally your only complaint is that it was crowded?

But that whole weekend in Oxford was shite in 2003. It was their first major win over Alabama in 40 years.
So basically you didn't enjoy Oxford because you lost?
Jesus, some of y'all have some really delicate sensibilities.

Don't listen to some of these bitter LSU fans. The fact of the matter is they are heavily bitter about being ranked #1 and #2 with us in tailgating by the majority of college football. They come to the Grove with preconceived notions on what tailgating SHOULD be, but are unwilling to accept any variation on the basic tailgating formula. Many of these mother frickers come into the Grove saying to us "So this is the best tailgating in the world? Prove it to me. Pay attention to me. This is bullshite compared to the kegstands and squirrels we BBQ at my tailgate!!!" The fact is these types of LSU fans fail to perceive tailgating from outside of what they grew up with. I love going down to LSU for their tailgates, and they're always alot of fun, but you don't see me bitching about the tents being far apart even though I prefer it them close together
The fact of the matter is this: both are very fun places to visit. If you want a better game atmosphere, then its Tuscolussa no question. However Oxford particullarly tries to treat first timers with particullar respect and make sure they have a good time. Not saying Bama won't as well (always treated me well and think they do well at tailgating too), I personally just think we'll treat yall the best during yalls first trip to Oxford in quite some time. But you cant go wrong either way really. Have fun and welcome to the SEC.

I'll leave it at this: we all suffer from confirmation bias here. Ole Miss fans, LSU fans, Alabama fans, and all of the rest of us love our schools so much that we look for the things (even subconsciously) which confirm the bias we already have.
This thread is prima facie evidence of this. Even I suffer from it. I naturally look for the things which already support the opinion I already have of Oxford, just as LSU fans do the same for BR and Alabama fans for T-Town. Furthermore, we all deliberately look for things which support our biases against other schools and towns in favor of our own.
I'll say this: Oxford's fricking great, and I don't need an LSU, Alabama, or Texas A&M fan to confirm that for me. Every time I go to Oxford I have a great time. I love the Grove, our bars and restaurants, our people, and our vibe. If you don't like it, then fine, whatever, I don't really care. Your opinion doesn't really impact mine, just as mine shouldn't really impact yours.
To the OP, just sack up and go to both. BDS is the conference's nicest stadium and Alabama is on up there with Notre Dame, USC, Michigan, and Oklahoma as far as tradition goes. Oxford has the conference's best bar/restaurant scene (frick you, Athens) as well as some of the nation's most unique tailgating. Our women have awesome boobds. Both towns have their redeeming qualities and their detriments. Just go, don't be a shitstain, and enjoy yourself.

Are you 800 pounds and bound to a Hoverround?
The Grove is no more crowded than a state fair. Seriously.

So your excuse for this year's LSU game would be...
I'm sorry, some of the rules you have are just absurd. Mainly the no open flame and pouring beer into plastic cups.
The cops were very nice to us though. Only gave a warning about the beer thing and didn't make anyone around us pour it out.
