I saw the police shove him against the car and put handcuffs on him. The ESPN reporter tried to explain what Scotty was trying to do but quickly told the media they better back up if they didn't want to go to jail too. He made it painfully clear Scotty was going to jail.

He definitely said something he shouldn’t have to the cop
He also disobeyed the officer repeatedly and the officer felt the need to physically attach himself to the car in an effort to protect other first responders

They released him and will see if he's still playing very soon.
They charged him with 2nd-degree assault of a police officer, 3rd-degree criminal mischief, and reckless driving. How did he get released?

It says he rolled down the window after driving around the scene of the death and when he did the officer reached in and grabbed his arm to get him to stop the car from continuing to move

ESPN now has footage someone took with a phone cam of the officer just before he attached to Scottie's car.
