You know, I want to add my thoughts on this whole Gruden/Cam thing and that article:
- To somehow bring up what Cam was WEARING as a negative is such a fricking stretch. He is a phony because he dresses nicely and those other QBs dressed like kids? WTF? He looked great - was doing a national TV show - I would dress nicely too.
- Cam being unable to come up with SOME kind of offensive play call from AU was in fact flabbergasting. I am fully aware of the way plays were called in from the sideline. But to suggest that there has been no football speak that Cam has been exposed to is preposterous. I was beyond embarrassed.
- That being said, the guy clearly was able to manage a complex offense even with Malzahn's decoder ring, making the right reads 95% of the time. You don't come out of the womb knowing how to do this stuff. Ask Kodi.
- Cam's intellectual ability is being questioned left and right....really?? Have you heard Michael Vick speak and followed his decisions in life? You guys saying that Vick can adapt and become a play caller but Cam can't? Sorry, I just don't see that.
- The gun analogy was forced and lame, I agree. But I can't fault the guy for trying to be just a little "eloquent" and not just saying "frick em all, I'll show 'em."

Gus' job is to create a successful college offense. I never said that it wasn't. However, that doesn't change the fact that Gus takes most of the decision making out of the hands of his QBs hands.
Petrino and many other college coaches require that their QBs understand defenses and know what plays to check to within the framework of the game plan. I'm not sure why that's a hard concept for some to understand but apparently it is.

It all worked because Cam was a great college athlete. Anyone who would deny that was sleeping through the season.

I am trying to understand wtf the indictment on gus is. I am starting to think you just threw that word out a few times because you thought it sounded good and never bothered to consider what it meant.
