Organically recruiting and developing talent is a different skill set than portal building where you are bringing in known skills. It will be interesting to see if he can change his approach even with the new resources.

It's not like Lane just started as a HC in CFB.
He understands traditional recruiting. His original UTenn staff had Ed O and Frank Wilson specifically to recruit, and to recruit LA. That's how Freak Johnson and Honey Badger initially committed to UTenn. Jarvis Landry even almost committed there.
