Trying to find the origin of such a simple concept is retarded.
It appears TexAgs is going to unite the rest of us haha. Couldn't be better timed with the Iron Bowl getting out of hand.
We can all pick on the new kid.

I agree. The bottom line is now you can't chant it unless you are the national champs representing the best conference in football. So, the Ags won't be chanting it...

First time I ever heard it was at the 1991 Independence Bowl. Georgia fans started chanting it when it became apparent they would win the game.

I've heard SEC chants at almost every bowl game we ever went to dating back to the 80s. The SEC didn't wait for Arkansas to come up with it. That being said, it's a stupid cheer and I can't stand when I hear it. Don't pull for a conference, pull for a school.

Not sure about the origin, but I will say this...
KARZ-42 in LR has been replaying some old 'classic' Razorback football games on Wednesday nights. One was the Hogs vs. Texas during our final season in the SWC. Near the end, you could hear the 'SEC' chant quite clearly.

Over the last 5 years when another conference has attempted to win a MNC, they've been denied. We're just rubbing it in their faces.

A&M students were doing the SEC chant as Pres. Loftin took the stage at this afternoon's graduation ceremony. Looks like we'll fit in just fine
