Alabama beat Texas A&M 49 - 42
Texas A&M beat Sam Houston St 65 - 28
Sam Houston St beat E Washington 49 - 34
E Washington beat Oregon St 49 - 46
Oregon St is better than Oregon because
Oregon St beat Washington St 52 - 24
while Oregon only beat Washington St 62 - 38
Therefore, Alabama is better than Oregon in 2013
as shown in 5 rounds by a combined score of 302 - 236.

Thank you, Mike Leach!
You ducks need to quit faffing about transitive wins.

Because you are a bunch of bitching arse hippies from the baby killing coast. If there is anything worse than toothless inbred hillbillies, that's definitely it.

Funny, cause when Oregon fans used the same excuse in 2011 we were slammed for it.
Oregon - LSU was a 3 pt game at halftime because LSU scored on that final drive. DeAnthony Thomas came out in the second half and fumbled twice on our side of the field, setting up 2 easy, quick scoring drives for LSU. He was a true freshman playing in his first game. We also had several new starters on defense.
LSU was without question the better team, but we were much better midway through that season than we were opening night because of experience. But we got slammed and dismissed as sore losers for saying that. So why does Tennessee get to claim improvement as an excuse for their asswhoopin when we didn't?
Honestly don't know what you're talking about people giving you grief over the loss to LSU and not recognizing seasonal progression. However, you regained the number #4 ranking but then lost to #18 USCw. So that's probably why people didn't buy it. Late season losses against schools you should beat are the best way to drop you out of contention. Whereas, if you'd only lost to LSU early in the season Oregon would've been in the picture for title selection. Alabama, Oklahoma State and Stanford were 11-1, whereas the Ducks finished 11-2. The Ducks could've made a hell of an argument that they deserved the rematch with LSU instead of Bama for the title IF you'd beaten USC since Bama lost to LSU much later in the season.

Our DC made some dumbass comments and acted like a whiny bitch. Man up and stop the pass against freakin Wazzu.

False. There is no way in hell they would have selected Oregon over Alabama for a rematch. And to be honest, they shouldn't have. That was a down year for Oregon. The secondary was very green. Bama was better than us.

Trying to compare the UT team that lost to oregon to the UT team that beat USCe is just dumb. I realize its the same team, but anybody with a brain can see imrpovements in offense, defense, playmaking ability, attitude, and confidence. trying so say otherwise is just ignorant.
Sure they have been playing better. I'll agree with that. But you gotta give some credit to Oregon for rolling the Vols the way they did.

I cannot envision CNS leaving 1's on the field if Bama is up 28 with 8 minutes to go.
Alabama gave up 42 points to Aggy and Johnny Hitler. How will they beat a real team like Oregon?

transitive property doesn't work in comparing teams, and I dont see any duck fans saying it should.
All I'm saying is credit needs to be given to Oregon for blasting Tennessee. If Alabama struggles with Tennessee in Tuscaloosa, they might not be as good as Oregon. If they win by two plus touchdowns and in convincing fashion, then it shouldn't matter that Oregon won by 45 points and Alabama only won by 14. How good the teams look on the field should matter more than the point differential.

O yeah, ya'll are good and you kicked our a@@. there's no denying that.
I'm just saying if we played now it would be closer (maybe by a little, maybe by a lot) than it was just because we seemed to have grown up as a team since then.
It's just that under Dooley, we were so used to seeing our teams get progressively worse as the season went on. Now CBJ has us getting better. I havent seen a UT team improve this much during a season in a long time. Baby Steps.

And everybody will have a different definition of "struggle" - what is that magical margin of victory that makes it a good win? A TN team coming off an emotional win will be hyped up more than they have been in years against Bama. It's a rivalry game on top of that. And some teams take longer to gel, TN playing much better ball now. I like the way Bama has played lately, although CNS is fighting the complacency bug. Meanwhile OR is trying to blow everyone away to make a BCS statement and esp if that team is an SEC team.
Vegas says 28, good chance it will be closer than that.

No problem with it, I just don't go around analyzing the margin of victory as the sole measure of how good each team is. Every week is a different story, every team matchup is unique, key injuries happen and key players return. But it's all up in duck head. Yes, your win over TN was impressive and all that.

Tennessee is better now than when they played Oregon. Not better enough to beat Alabama, but this whole "common opponent" metric is ludicrous.

Alabama will not beat UT like that for a variety of reasons.
Saban doesn't run up the score, I think Tenn has improved since then, and Alabama doesn't run the hurry up.
It's a non-issue, the gap between Alabama and Oregon isn't even remotely close, it's huge.
The only argument right now is FSU vs. Oregon for the 2nd spot.
There's no doubt Alabama is #1 and Ohio State is #4 in the pecking order.
