It's about having a full class top to bottom. Not just a few good prospects at the top and shite after that

This is such a crock of shite argument.

Yes, it'd be nice to have a team entirely made up of five star athletes, but there are 22 starters on a football team. Since simple arithmetic probably eludes your grasp, that means there are 44 players on the two-deep. There are 85 scholarshipped players on any team per NCAA regulations. There are 25 scholarshipped players in each recruiting class per SEC regulations.

Considering all of that, a team does not really need to have any more than, say, 8 or 9 top blue chip prospects in a recruiting class if you can a) do so consistently and b) keep those players in school. There's NO frickING WAY that every scholarshipped player will see significant time on the field. A lot of players will ride the bench for most, if not all, of their college career. That's just the reality of it.

So a team can be competitive without having a "top to bottom" elite recruiting class. It's not like we're fighting a goddamn war where you can simply have more soldiers on your side to give you an advantage. This is football, where it's about putting together the best 22 players you can, not the best 85. Our recruiting is putting us in a very good position to compete in the SEC. I'm sorry this scares you.

The freak is better than anybody ole miss has ever had on their defensive line for starters.

Maybe nkimdeche will be good. Maybe not. Right now nobody knows.

That's a lot of stock to it into a true freshman

Again you are putting all your stock into our talented freshmen when we already have talent.

How many players that sign with a school do you think makes it the full 4 or 5 yrs?

Answer is around 2/3rds. They don't all make it.

So wouldn't it be better to have several comparable players in case a "star" gets hurt, suspended, kicked off the team, etc etc

And then there's this whole concept of depth. I think that means something for the off and def lines

What arguments do y'all think you've won?

All of them. It doesn't seem any of your brethren are dumb enough to take up for your points. When your fanbase consists of like 70% of the site and none of them come to your rescue, any reasonably smart person would know they are on the losing end of the argument and are likely wrong.
