So here is where I am at. Correct? Incorrect? Thanks.

- NCAA began investigating Ole Miss due to their women’s basketball and track programs.
- During that investigation, the NCAA turns up information on Saunders and his time at Ole Miss involving potential academic fraud with ACT testing procedures in Wayne Co.
- Several players recruited by and to Ole Miss are interviewed about their recruiting process with Ole Miss.
- That information, along with the Saunders info, leads the NCAA to ULL where Saunders went after leaving Ole Miss.
- The NCAA concludes that Saunders worked together with this lady administering the ACT tests for players he helped recruit to ULL.
- The NCAA issues their NOA to ULL based on their investigation – which actually started at Ole Miss and led them to ULL.
- The NCAA concluded that Suanders lied during the investigation in to ULL, failed to cooperate, and gave $6500 to a current ULL football player.
- When the NCAA interviews Saunders, Ole Miss has legal representation at the questioning.
- The NCAA concludes that Saunders was guilty of academic fraud while employed by ULL and give him an 8 year show cause.
- ULL self imposes penalties to include the loss of 11 scholarships over three seasons, limited off campus recruiting visits, and vacating the 2011 season.
- The NCAA Committee on infractions also placed ULL on probation until sometime in 2018 and vacated games during the 2012-14 seasons in which ineligible players played in games.
- In the ULL response to the NCAA Committee on Infractions, they claimed that Saunders had been involved with academic fraud in his job prior to being hired by ULL and that if they had known they would not have hired Saunders.
- The NCAA ruled that it didn’t matter and that ULL was responsible for Saunders actions.
- The wording of the ruling, along with the show cause for Saunders, indicates that the NCAA is serious about his actions while employed at Ole Miss and ULL.
- The NCAA, during their investigation in to the women’s basketball and track teams, uncovers other potential violations with the football program separate from the Saunders investigation.
- During the Saunders investigation in to Ole Miss, the Tunsil incident with the step father occurs.
- This incident between Tunsil and his step father leads to Tunsil being suspended for seven games due to receiving improper benefits.
- The NCAA issues their NOA to Ole Miss involving their athletic programs and names the football program in 13 of the 28 violations.
- Even during the time that the NCAA issued the NOA, they continue to investigate the Ole Miss football program – primarily focusing on three current football players and improper benefits.
- In addition, there are allegations that Ole Miss offered both R. Gary and Kongbo money to sign with Ole Miss in the latest recruiting cycle.
- The AD at Michigan makes public comments indicating that Gary was indeed offered money from other schools that were recruiting him at the time.
- Ole Miss issues a statement on after receiving the NOA that the accusations occurred mostly during the Houston Nutt era at Ole Miss.
- Nutt responds by saying that Ole Miss is deflecting away from the truth.
- Ole Miss signs a top 10 class on NSD.
- Former Ole Miss recruiting coordinator and current University of Texas DB coach Chris Vaughn cut ties due in part to the accusations at Ole Miss during his time at the school.
- Current Ole Miss Asst Recruiting Coordinator B. Wenzel resigns to pursue other opportunities. Ole Miss states his resignation is not tied to the ongoing NCAA issues at the school.
- The NCAA is still investigating Ole Miss even though they have issued one NOA to the university.

solid recap well done.

until these

quote:

- The AD at Michigan makes public comments indicating that Gary was indeed offered money from other schools that were recruiting him at the time.

I could allege that Michigan paid x player x amount.
or alabama or ms state.

or than Gary was paid more by Michigan because he ended up there anyway and they also hired his high school coach. Im sure it would be hard to get a middle man in that scenario...

also we dont know if its Clemson , Ole miss or any of the other universities Michigans AD is alluding to, he was the #1 player in the nation.
unless is the only school in the nation willing to pay the #1 player in the nation...

and the chris vaughn situation is all speculation. even in the 247 Texas recruiting websites article they say it is speculated.

The Branden Wenzel thing is not recruiting related, but the timing is incredible. his actions were recent and Im sure he will latch on at a different school and be sucessfull. Just cant shite where you eat.

NCAA is about to Wreck your butthole.

The NCAA ruled that it didn’t matter and that ULL was responsible for Saunders while at ULL.

This is what the Rebs don't understand. The university will be held responsible for all the violations whether they happened under freeze or not

So we report the findings to NCAA and fire him from ole miss.

And the NCAA is giving us the same sanctions as ull with additional sanctions for other violations.

Will Saunders get another 8 year show clause for his ole miss infractions as well?

Probably the same reason the track and field coach resigned last year. Nothing to see here.

The school that has Saunders actively on its staff and cheating at the moment of investigation (ULL) is treated differently than the school that discovers what Saunders is doing, fires him within 6mos of hiring him, and turns him into the NCAA(OM)

Or in other words:
He cheated at ULL and was allowed to get away with it until the investigation
He cheated at OM, but we caught his arse and fired him 6mos after we hired him

But, of course, believe and spin as you want

LSU cut ties with Gary because his mom had her hand out. This is well known on all the pay sites, by the insiders, so I'm sure it was a bidding war, and why a lot of people thought he would end up at Ole Miss. Michigan has to be in the cross-hairs now...

Not sure on the validity.

But sounds reasonable, his mom rubbed me the wrong way.

She was acting like she was his agent doing all interviews for him and answering questions.

Every time he was interviewed or answered a question he had to check with her.
My thoughts were he's checking with her to make sure he says the right things, doesn't reveal to much, strings along the right people to make sure schools still think they had a chance.
