Anybody knows why at least 5 seniors did not come out on the field last night. Parents standing on the field with the players portrait looking toward the locker room and no player came onto the field.

I'm hearing they were walk on's and nobody told them they had to be there or when to be there. Don't know how reliable that is. That is our typical administration if it is true.
And we wonder why players in the NFL don't say Ole Miss.

How embarrassing for the families

Oh I agree. This whole athletic department is in shambles right now it seems. Can't get anything right.
Then we had Pete Boone earlier last week deny over 30 players Egg Bowl tickets for their families. Something about academic issues. Neither of those kids had academic issues. The families raised hell. Our chancellor had to override him and give the tickets to them. It is so embarrassing right now.

SMITH DISCUSSES SENIOR DAY MISHAP: Ole Miss defensive tackle Justin Smith was one of several seniors who failed to get to the field in time for the pregame ceremony honoring the Rebels' graduating class prior to the LSU game.
"It was just a communication breakdown," Smith said. "We didn't know what the procedure was going to be before we went out on the field, so when we ran back into the tunnel, we thought we were going to get called back out. They stopped people in the tunnel, and the first four or five guys that went in there didn't get a chance to go out (for the ceremony)."
Smith said his mother, who stood on the field waiting for her son to be recognized, was upset.
"It was tough," Smith said. "I felt bad for my mom. It was important to her, but she's all right so I'm fine."
ole miss athletic department in a nutshell imo.

I was curious about this. I just read this article:

That it was Senior Day, when all the seniors get introduced before the game and get to stand and be recognized with their parents and loved ones. At least three of the Mississippi seniors, for whatever reason, were no-shows for the ceremony. Their folks were there, lined up along the far hashmarks, and increasingly taking on the looks of game-show contestants who were trying for the luxury dinette suite and realizing that they'd picked the curtain with the lifetime supply of lye soap. On the big board at the end of the stadium you could see Houston Nutt begin to chuckle at the absurdity of it. It was perhaps the most poignant and sad moment I've ever seen on a football field, and I saw Joe Kapp play quarterback for the New England Patriots.
