When I was in school at LSU, the entire week before the Ole Miss game, especially when in Tiger Stadium, was like a big festival. Flag football tournament on the Parade Ground for charity, panty raids (yes, they actually happened), food fights in the cafeteria on Thursday night.

Bobby is related to him but he was James Vincent Corkern or jimmy Corkern. I think Bobby is a cousin but maybe his brother. I know they were good then, (from the patches)
He was definitely all state a few times because he had those patches on his jacket. Even my dad, and they didn’t get along ever, said he was a great football player that should have played at LSU but screws like my Uncle did at La Tech. His gf got pregnant too. Was huge LSU guy all his life.
frick me, papaw was born in 1916 so he would have been in high school in 1930s probably around 32-36 time frame
