No...probably going to be the Landshark. Since everyone has such a huge hard on for that fad right now.

I don't really have a dog in the fight but I'd like to put one in it. Y'all need a good ole Mississippi hound dog.

Maybe a black bear on the sidelines like Alabama has the Elephant, nothing to do with the crimson tide.
We'll trade you the elephant if we can have the bear. A bear would make more sense for us anyway.

And it probably wouldn't be bad. Sort of like the Tennessee look. Name him Colonel. Drape him in some sort of Ole Miss attire. But....with that move...it will soon lead to us being called the Hound Dogs or something like that. Much like what these other selections are leading to. Ole Miss is slowly dying in it's name/traditions. And it's sad in my opinion. Colonel Reb, Ole Miss, Rebels, Dixie, From Dixie With Love is what I grew up knowing when it came to college sports. Now half of those are no more and the rest could soon become extinct as well.

I agree. Maybe it wouldn't come to that. But if it did come down to anyone attacking the name Rebels, Hound Dogs would be a great name. A hound dog on the side of the helmet? Damn right!

Believe me, I became a Razorback fan by choice, not birth. I heard about the Rebels and Ole Miss before I ever heard the word Razorback or Arkansas. (my dad and uncles) I can empathize.

If the name gets changed...I'm officially done with Ole Miss or Mississippi...as they would rather have it I'm sure.

I know I've had differences over the last couple of years with various Ole Miss fans. But, my goodness I truly feel sorry for that proud institution after looking at the mascot choices. Make no mistake. Every choice sucks. Some more than others. The Ole Miss Hotty Totty

Well, I can relate to that. I said, "if Arkansas goes to the Big 12, I'll become an 100% Ole Miss fan." (I still wouldn't like Hootie) Really, I wouldn't like it one bit." I really don't know what I would do.

I'm prepared to switch to being an Auburn fan. Second favorite school. I only live like 2hrs from campus. Would be easy for me to make trips over there for games.

DON'T!
I don't think it will come to that. If it does, something in this country needs changing much worse than a mascot.

Really????? Because sports is what I grew up knowing when it came to college sports.

Quit worrying about what song is played or what idiot in a foam costume is wearing and watch the fricking game.

And it even says in the description for the horse one that there could potentially be a REAL horse leading the team onto the field. Quit listening to the idiots in your office and actually read it.

If you're willing to switch allegiances over a dumbass mascot, song, or name......then feel free to be an Auburn fan and go beat off to their 3 names/mascots. They have all the "trah-dishuns" that you could ever dream about.

Nothing against Auburn, it's the principle. It's not the same with the Big 12 bullshite. That would have been a choice made out of sheer stupidity and it was rumor from the get-go anyway. This is pure PC idiotic bullshite. Hang in there!

I'll hang in there up to the point when they change the name Rebels.
