Wow.. I always thought Ole Miss was the bigger University by a few thousands students.
MSU and Ole Miss are literally equal in students and sports while Vandy is the only program saving them from the bottom student category, ha.
Good for Ole Miss but I have no idea where they will put 20,000 students in Oxford.

So what are the actual on campus numbers for both schools, because this number is really the only one that maters.

Never mind..
The Campus in Oxford has only around 18,000 as discussed above.

This shouldn't be a pissing contest. It's great kids are going to college. Both schools should be proud about both Universities growing.

MSU-20,424 (whole Univeristy system)
-19,724 (on Starkville Campus undergrad and grad)
OM-20,824(whole Univeristy system)
-17,409 (on Oxford Campus undergrad and Grad)
Just to get the facts straight. Its hard to compare any numbers outside undergrad and graduate because both schools have different programs.

Good grief, did OM lower the entrance reqs to 13 ACT and a 2.5 CGPA? If yes, I bet Dallas skirts make up 72% of all incoming frosh.

I went to Starkvegas in 2002 or 2003 to watch my Hogs. I remember the campus was very bare and after visiting Ole Miss multiple times I understood why people went to UM.
However, it seems with all the building going on at MSU, there was a lot of construction back then, it seems MSU has removed itself of the cow laden name and is now larger than UM. Who wold've known?
I'll give it to the guys at MSU they do more with the smallest budget in the SEC.

False alarm. They have 17,500 students on campus.
Imagine if Arkansas even counted a portion of off campus, UA-Fort Smith, we would have 40,000 students.

WEll I started at State in 2006 and I can tell you the campus and enrollment is drastically different in the 5 years I was there. You could definitly tell the campus was getting packed. Also I honestly cannot remember a semester when new construction was not happening.

Yeah, that's what fans of the school with the fewer students always say. We lose. OM wins this year (with an "all-campuses" asterisk).
Still, it is just more of the "we suck less" smack. Same with attendance, and really recruiting, too. You don't see many Bama/Auburn/LSU/Florida/Georgia/Arkansas/Tennessee fans here smacking about having more fans or bigger enrollment, who is winning the overall series, and really not that much on who finished higher in the recruiting rankings either (outside of Bama's #1 year). It's who won head-to-head last year, who had the better season, and who's going to win head-to-head and have the better season this year.
(It's State, State, State, and State, btw). :-)

UAFS only has 7700 students.
ETA: There's also UALR and UA-Monticello, I don't know their enrollment numbers.
