Football Scoop says Nutt is interested in former Alabama OC Dave Rader. Maybe it's germans, I don't know. The search function didn't return anything on Rader.

Ole Miss: We are hearing Houston Nutt could be close to hiring former Alabama offensive coordinator Dave Rader.

Rader seems to be the frontrunner for some unknown reason?? I feel like Nutt just wants someone to call an OC but not actually do to much work and get in the way with his play calling.

I'm surprised Nutt would go after Rader, even if Rader would only be the OC in title. Rader was out of coaching, and in private business, for a reason when Shula hired him in 2003. He's a decent QB coach, but I don't think his skills as an OC are that great. Anyone associated with the "jumbo package" and "bucket step" blocking technique should be shunned.
