Just to chime in on your assumption that Mullen will leave. He just signed a contract extension, has a state of the art practice facility that will be completed in January, and the university just broke ground on a stadium expansion. He isn't going anywhere for a few years minimum.

Tele, here is how it goes. Mississippi has the right to say whatever they want to you. You have, in turn, the right to accept what they say and move along until you win a conference game. Had your, aTm, D not shite the bed in the second half and your O attempted to stay in the game, the conversational power play might not be in affect.

The only other coach with control and power like Mullen right now is Saban.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. But Mississippi State is irrelevant.
That is like saying the King of Liechtenstein has more power than the President of the United States. Sure he may have a lot of relative power, but it is Mississippi State. And I think the relative power is sort of moot anyway. Hell. Stoops hasn't won a title in over a decade and he is more revered in the state of Oklahoma than Mullen will ever be. Anywhere.

I'm talking about total athletic department control. Mullen gets what he wants. I'm not saying he is the best coach or anything.

I agree that Mullen, for the most part, gets what he wants and has a ton of pull. But there are other coaches that I think have more power than him. Frank Beemer, Les Miles, Urban Meyer, etc....

Those athletic departments besides VT historically have had more success than here and really don't give up the leverage that is given to Mullen. Imagine how he'll be treated if he wins 10 games this year.
