I think Ole Miss is probably an 8-4 team. It's what I thought preseason and nothing has happened to change that. I think the starting 11 across both sides are capable of winning 10 games but I think depth is a concern. Simmons is going through some growing pains and the OL is a work in progress to put it lightly. I wouldn't be surprised if Ole Miss dropped a few mid year games but closed strong in November. We are very strong at WR and Kewan Lacy is a dude at RB. Front 7 is pretty good and may end up great towards the end of the year but there are definitely depth concerns there. Secondary is solid in run support but probably average in coverage.

If the OL can gel and stay healthy, there's a possibility of a playoff run but that's a big if at this point. Interior OL is the biggest concern on the team no doubt.

Agreed. 7-5/8-4 this year, next year a shot to make the Playoff.

I thought we would be an 8-4ish team going into the season, and my thought is still the same. Road games at Georgia and Oklahoma are likely losses, but after seeing Florida lose to USF at home and South Carolina struggle to move the ball against South Carolina State, I'm more confident about our home matchups against those teams than I was before.

Kentucky has been a weird game for us for the past four years. I think each of the last 5 games we've had against them have been decided by one score at the end of the game. We outscored Kentucky 30-10 over the final 44 minutes of the game and only allowed 20 points in total despite Kentucky having two drives start inside OUR 35 yard line. Us being ahead by two scores with two minutes left in the game is a testament to Kiffin and the staff. They nutted up and didn't let the game get out of hand early.

People forget Austin Simmons is 19 years old and is just now becoming a full-time starter for us. Early season struggles don't concern me too much. Granted, we have three straight games at home against teams who have talent (Arkansas, Tulane, LSU) so he needs to grow up fast, but we have a good running game and a good defense for him to lean on as he matures. My guess is we're going to be playing our best football at the end of the season. If we can survive these next three weeks and go 2-1 at worst, I'll be confident going into the back half of our schedule.

I thought Austin was inaccurate in his road debut but got the W nonetheless. Our offensive skill is as good as anyone’s and we will once again be able to win games on defense if we need to. We are better than our ranking imo.

I had us at 7-5 floor with a 10-2 ceiling.

We are still looking like a 9-3 or 8-4 type team to me.
