Look at your sig pic.
Nick Redmond, he is an early enrollee and is getting head start on everybody in the weightroom.
We also have Justin Malone a 6'6" 300lb kid from MRA who is a project, who the coaches are really high on. He has only played 2 years of orgainized football and has really good feet.

I guess so, he was the Clarion ledger's metro athlete for the week in basketball. He averages about 18ppg and 11rpg. You should ask Yancy since that seems to be one of his favorite catch phrases.

Got this off the recruiting board about Raven:
quote:
Here is what Ole miss scout guy says
1. Raven texts him saying he has signed w/ Ole Miss
2. Couple hours pass and no LOI faxed by Raven.
3. Yancy calls Raven. He says that he's hosting a signing day party and that he will fax to UM when he's done.
4. Ole Miss says that Raven's fax tried to come through but the "transaction failed" and they asked to resend
5. Raven tells Yancy he will go to another fax machine and try again.
6. Some time later Raven texts Yancy that he's faxed it to Ole Miss and everything is good to go.
7. Raven's name still doesn't appear on the official UM signee board so Yancy talks to Ole Miss staff and they say that the fax sent in was forged by Raven's mom and invalid
8. Yancy calls Raven. Raven says the forged story is untrue and that what happened was his mom signed and dated his LOI yesterday and that the Ole Miss staff told him it was invalid and that under NCAA rules he couldn't send a new LOI until tomorrow. Raven is disappointed and told yancy he wanted to sign today on national signing day so he decides to send his new LOI to A&M.
9. Ole Miss staff denies Raven's version and said they are tired of his act and he can go to A&M.

Malone is a pretty good basketball player, so he's shown he can move well for a 300 pounder.
He is strong, too--in his football highlights he's tossing around 180-200 pound academy DE's like they were rag dolls. We will just have to see if he can pick on players his own size.

Raven seems too flakey. I would've loved to have gotten the kid but he seems like one of the types that would've left school halfway through the first year

So your biggest needs were LB, where you picked up one, and OL, where you picked up two decent ones and one project... uh oh

Nutt's comments on Raven:
Zing.
quote:
On Floyd Raven: Was here early on a visit. Loves Ole Miss, his mother loves Ole Miss. We did get a signature and we did get a letter. I'd rather talk about the ones that wanted to be here and want to be an Ole Miss Rebel. Let's leave it at that. So good luck to him.
Zing.

Actually if we didn't void the LOI we could have fricked him. Nutt didn't want to him here if he didn't want to be here and he didn't want to screw the kid up for a whole year.

Exactly.

Yes, sort of. One of our current TE signees is a likely OT. Plus, we are converting a DE into an OT and State signed 6-7 HS OL last year (all redshirted).

James Carmon is a DT. That's who I've heard about for the past few days making the switch.

He will more than likely be our starting LT this fall. He is a BEAST 6'7" 330

I don't like where that idea is going for MSU, sorry - playing LT well isn't something that everyone can do.
TBD

You are right.
He played OL in high school but not since. Apparently was decent at LT in our bowl practices.

There are guys in the NFL who play OT now who were tall DTs in college.
