Hey, we know we have been christened the new Nebraska. We'll do our best not to embarrass the conference.

Texas with 2. OU with eight conference championships. Texas with one in that timeframe.

I think it’s funny how everyone is talking about Texas as elite & overlooking OU.

That has been the case almost every year the last 20 years.

IN A shite conf.

You do realize that this is a comparison between OU and TX and TX was in the same conference, right?

Your comment might be relevant if someone was comparing OU's 10 win seasons to 'Bama or Georgia.

This is basic logic, man.

Didn't Vernables allow Art Briles on the OU sidelines?

Nope. He didn't know Briles was there and got pissed when he found out.

Really? Everyone was talking about Texas and not OU from 2012-2020? Lol

My memory isn't the greatest but I remember a lot of "Texas is back" preseason talk throughout those years. You got me, probably not every year but certainly quite a few of them.

I think you are using hindsight logic. Just because your team sucked doesn't mean the media didn't fellate them before the season.

I could give a shite about Texas or Oklahoma, I just think it’s fricking funny they have had so many double digit season wins and have jack shite for national championships. It’s a knock on Oklahoma you dumb arse. We’ve enjoyed beating the shite out of them twice now on a national championship run. Been good times

And how many natty’s? Ouch.

As a fan, as you can probably imagine, those arse rapings in playoff or championship games were hard to watch.

But as time goes on and I hear this mantra - from OU fans or otherwise - I look back and realize some of those losses were served by some great teams and two all-time CFB buzzsaws, 2004 USC & 2019 LSU. Nobody else was beating those teams. And this wouldn't be some kind of narrative had we not done what it took to get there that many times in the first place.

*The 2003 BCS LSU game, the 2008 BCS Florida game and the 2017 Georgia game notwithstanding. Those were pretty evenly-matched teams. Those losses were hard to stomach.

2015 Clemson & 2018 Alabama were just far better teams and OU's defense was built for the late-era B12 air raid offenses. Couldn't match the physicality those offenses were bringing.

You didn't beat the shite out of us in 2003/4 - not even close. We had your defense completely gassed and ran down your throats and then chose to pass it four times at the goal line. Thanks Chuck Long.

Also, if you want to say that team got the shite beat out of them then back up one game where KSU beat us 35-7.

I wasn't even upset by the LSU loss because a win there would have been a tainted championship as we should not have been chosen after that KSU beatdown.

Now I'll give you our last meeting. That was a USC type arse kicking.
