Athens is a great place... I've spent quite a bit of time there, and it's fun all year round... Football weekends are a blast, but it's as much fun to go when things aren't so busy and crazy... Maybe you can find a good reason to go that's not 5 years away...

I've visited the campus in Athens and briefly seen the city. I've heard it has a cool downtown area that has nice restaurants and bars. I will definitely try to make our next game there at Sanford. I've always wanted to attend the Georgia/Florida game in Jax. Looks like a blast. I wish we had a game like that.

I have a whole slew of cousins from Jacksonville, who all went to UGA, and my mom is a Georgia girl. Whenever I go, I stay with my cousins at the beach, and we all go to the game, which is SO much fun. This year, it's the bye week for Alabama (as well as LSU) and so I am trying to decide if I will make it down. I just wish Georgia wouldn't lose to Florida all the time. It's still fun though... even when they lose!

Since Alabama has a bye, attend the Cocktail Party if you can..I would. It's a shame Georgia has been so bad in that series the last 20 years. I remember Herschel Walker and Vince Dooley dominating UF as a kid. The roles have reversed. Even though it is so one sided, it always looks like fun.
