If he's coming in on I-20 (I live in Douglasville & go this way), he could go straight thru Atl. on 20, take exit 82(hwy138) in Conyers North to Atlanta Hwy US-78 to Monroe (hwy 138 ends & merges right into 78) & take 78 to Athens & bear right onto Broad St.(at the Pepsi plant). Straight shot into downtown...
I live 25mi. W. of Atl & can be in Athens in 2-2.5hrs on gameday... No dealing with that 285-85-316 clusterfrick..FWIW...

but really pretty much most bars don't care about fakes. bourbon for freshman, whiskey bent, sideways, buddha (if you are desperate), on the rocks, generals (gotten a little stricter i have heard) and from there just go to the ones that look the most popular. really IDs work at most our bars, just avoid the older crowd
