I can't offer suggestions on where to park, but I can certainly tell you where not to. Stay away from the parking decks. Took us 2 hours to get out of one in '05

Holy. shite.

Ok, no parking decks. Are there houses around that charge parking like in Auburn or Tuscaloosa?

Yeah, they've got pay lots. There are side streets you can usually find some spaces as well. What time are you planning on getting there? And are you coming from Bham? I've got a way you can go so that you dont have to sit on 316 for hours...traffic into athens is a bitch on gameday.

Winner!

That's right, folks... Over nearly three decades of football, this elite program has defeated it's two biggest SEC rivals once in the same season.

Yup, leaving Hoover tomorrow at 6AM ( too damn early) and driving over there. My GPS and mapquest said it'd take about 4 hours to get to Sanford stadium from my house, so I should be there at 11AM (EST).

Depending on what time you plan on arriving here's what you should do:

Intramural fields is free. They have a deck and a field that they use as a lot. There is a continuous shuttle that will take you to and from the stadium.
Get there around 9 am just to be prudent.

There are various pay lots but they are all a ripoff. If you can somehow find a spot downtown, park there. You'll get a ticket but the ticket is only like $10 and is half of what you would pay for parking. Don't worry, this isn't Auburn they won't tow you.

If neither of those suit you I suggest you just drive around until you find a spot on a side street or just pay for parking. Have fun it's going to be a great time

Im about to put my daughter down for a nap. I'll give you another route that I always take and it's much shorter time wise. If mapquest says 4 hours, you can expect 6 on a gameday. 316 is a parking lot.

Yeah, I can't get there at 9 I'd have to leave Birmingham at 4AM (CST) to pull that off.

Ok, as long as my car doesn't get towed, I don't care about a ticket. More than likely, I'll end up saying "frick it" and pay for parking.

Thanks for the tips I appreciate it. It'll be a great game, it always is. May the best team win and no injuries

How late until they start towing? My aunt lives in Athens so I'm trying to figure out how long I can leave it in a parking lot until I absolutely have to move it back to her house.

Not sure where you're tailgating at, but these directions will get you to the UGA arches on North Campus. I'm going to skip the directions getting into Atlanta obviously. When you get onto I-85 North, take it to exit 113. That is I-985, and it'll be on the left. Once you are on I-985, you'll take your first exit(#4), which is GA-20. I'll start the mapquest directions now.

-Turn right onto GA-20, and go 1 mile.

-Turn left onto Gravel Springs road, and continue 9.6 miles. Stay on this until it deadends into US-29/Atlanta Highway.

-Turn right onto US-29/Atlanta Highway, and continue 24 miles. This will get you to the Athens Loop, which you'll want to take north.

- Take Paul Broun Pky/Athens Perimeter Hwy/GA-8 N/GA-10-BL N toward Hartwell/Elberton for 2.6 miles to exit 15, Tallasee Road/Oglethorpe Road.

-Turn right and go 1.6 miles to Prince Avenue.

-Turn right on Prince Avenue and go 1.5 miles to Jackson Street.

-Take a right onto Jackson Street and that'll drop you right onto Broad Street...right next to the arches.

Mapquest say the total time is 4 hours, 17 minutes...which will still take a lot less time than sitting on 316. Hope this helps.

I'll start those directions when I get into Atlanta.

I'll be tailgating on North Campus, so this is perfect.

Yeah, just get to I85 and start looking for exit 113. This is how we're going...saves so much time. Safe travels.

I've never known anyone who has gotten towed in Athens. They'll put a boot on your tire depending on where you leave it (hotel parking lot, private parking, etc..)

Worse than being towed imo. I've had that happen twice in Birmingham. Greedy frickers

Nite, here is a campus map. North Campus is the little strip you see here that runs from Broad Street/The Arch down to the Main Library. We tailgate directly in front of the main library about 50 yards, just look for the flagpole.

shite forgot the link haha

Ok! At 11 I don't know if many (if any) people will be there. Sometimes my crew is kind of late to arrive from friday night's festivities. But we should be rolling pretty good about noon or shortly thereafter.
