A litte more to this. CU had 87 plays to Auburns 64. Thats a function of the system. Given a a multi-threat senior at QB and a damn good RB in Ellington, Clemson won. Otherwise, I thought the two teams were very close.
Above is not an excuse for losing. Its why Clemson won. They were the better team. We went to the game but I had to come home and watch the DVR on fast forward to see the offense. I left impressed with the Auburn RB's and knowing Kiehl Frazier needs some time to grow up. He'll get there.
Not sold on being in a pro style offense vs Malzahns hurry up O. We got beat by it tonight. However, the pro style offense may help with recruiting kids who think they can play at the next level. Particularly QB's.

Both of those long runs were due to very very poor tackling by the AU D. In fact just about every big play by Clemson should have been stopped for short yardage with proper tackling technique. The coaches are calling the right plays and putting the players in the right position to make a play but they look very poorly coached in fundamentals, like every defense AU has had in Chizik's 4 seasons.

Well, that's certainly possible, but I don't see how you say that with such confidence. Auburn was leading this game late and lost by one score in spite of the QB getting his first start after losing its starting center one week before the game. It wasn't the arse whipping that last year was. Maybe not by a ton but Auburn appears to be improved...and in spite of not being a good football team last year, Auburn beat State. So if MSU has improved a lot, then they ought to have a really good chance at home. If not, Auburn ought to have a better than 50/50 chance. But we really don't know that yet. But I think it is fair to say that we Auburn fans don't feel as confident about the State game as we did prior to the season.
As always, the MSU off season FAPFEST continues after skull fricking their D2 opponent. It's like a broken record.

Quit your freaking crying bro. For all we know, we just lost by a very slim margin to the eventual ACC champion....with a very young team, new QB and basically, a walk on center. Oh and 2 new coordinators in their first game.
