Some of our fans will not be satisfied unless the replacement wins a NC. They are convinced BMFP was on the way to winning one here.

Sure it is, but he had to develop those relationships with handlers and HS coaches. Same as Nick Saban did when he carpet bagged his way down from MSU.

Petrino's squad was much closer to losing to Ole Miss & Vandy then there were to beating Bama & LSU
The "fans" are a lot less important than you think, Jeff Long will not put the University or it's alumni in jeopardy by hiring a scumbag like Butch Davis

The Nick Saban they left East Lansing for Baton Rouge is not the brand name Nick Saban we know today.
You may need to trust that Jeff Long has a clue they way the LSU trusted the ad when he hired Saban
