Curiosity got the better of me, and I had to look up the 1941 Mississippi State Maroons football team.

4-0-1 in conference

Beat #20 Alabama, Auburn, Florida, #17 Ole Miss, tied LSU

8-1-1 overall (finished ranked #16)

Also beat Milsaps, San Francisco, Southwestern, Union, lost to #10 Duquesne


(As a side note, Georgia Tech and Tulane were still in the SEC.)

they did divide the conference up like they had to.


It was really predicated on getting three of each in two divisions.

Bama
Auburn

Uf
