We've made a strong push to recruit students from Texas and (sorry guys) Missouri lately with a nice pay off in attendance.

It doesn't hurt any that the economy continues to be going like gangbusters in NW Arkansas while the cost of living is still low.

It's a double-edged sword. NWA economy is always in need of highly skilled people. That's why the local philanthropy is juicing every city in the region with big-time amenities right now. I don't expect that to slow anytime soon with Walmart making a play to be an online marketplace to rival Amazon.

In spite of what makes NWA already a great place to live, a small to mid-sized southern metro isn't on the radar of a lot of top-talent. And top-talent is what the Bigs need always. I wouldn't be shocked to see the local business community pushing for enrollment in Fayetteville of 35,000 soon, and funding more gibs for OOS students.

I love NWA. Its a great place. I just hope we don't frick it up by growing too fast.

How does it feel, as an Arkansas taxpayer, to be subsidizing the education of some frat boy who couldn't make it into UT or A&M?

Not too bad, considering some of those bros stay and start companies. The only kids who get a tuition break that knocks off 90% of their OOS fees are required to have a 3.7 GPA and 30 ACT score. We get good students who get screwed by your Diversity Formula.

How does it feel to have to take the top 8% from Dallas Carter and South Oak Cliff High?

We're skimming a ton of good kids from Frisco, Allen and McKinney who live 4 hrs from campus, and who are impressed by landscapes that aren't flat as frick and paved over for 30 miles in every direction.

I was about to say that. Yeah. It feels pretty good right now.

Honestly, After being so pissed off at the SJW nonsense that went on there, I'm feeling empathy toward Mizzou grads after reading that. They've taken a beating. What a freaking nightmare.

Boy, it appears that the Fox News crowd just can't let go of this. Nothing gets under conservatives' skin like black students standing up against racism, acting in solidarity, & forcing those who wield power to accede to their demands. For people who insist that authority is always to be obeyed & never challenged, the Mizzou file presented an unacceptable inversion of the social order which they just can't abide. How dare these football players not know their rightful place & stay in it? How dare their coach, Gary Pinkel, back them up? How dare the university not punish or expel them for their insubordination? (Cue fists pounding on table.)

Actions have consequences. This was good as an example for everyone else.

It is concerning that Missouri's enrollment numbers are lowering that much if nothing is being done. I don't believe the university has to be in a constant state of growth. I want a quality university, I don't care about being a diploma factory that a lot of universities have turned into. This moment should be a time of refining the university into something better and is a great opportunity to do so. Hopefully they take this moment to do something great but who knows.

2014: Mizzou students stand up to the bigoted West Bureau Baptist Church when the WBBC tries to intimidate a gay black football player.

2015: Mizzou students protest because the Mizzou campus is the most bigoted and racist place in the world.

SJW logic!

I miss living up there every day buddy. Let it grow, but don't let it get out of control.

which is a fantastic idea.

Also, mizzou started building new dorms right as this happened. So ya, some dorms are available for that. You're crazy if you think it wont turn around.

Of course the New York Times never mentioned that the hunger strike cuck who's daddy is a multi-millionaire made the whole fricking thing up and that the Shitsticka never actually happened. This is why people hate the media.

Injecting racism into a conversation is like injecting religion or politics into it.

shite's probably going to hit the fan. Or in ya'lls case, the wall.

Where was the proof that any of their accusations actually happened? Where is the proof that Johnathan Butler actually went on a hunger strike? The people that supported the protests and the Mizzou administration got played.

Totally. That was conveniently left out by the NYT. What a surprise.

You are still subsidizing their education.

However, I'm impressed that you knew that UT Austin has a lower ratio than the Top 10 Percent rule (I actually think it's 7 now).
