A certain percentage of posters downvote anything Aggie-related, without bothering even to read the post.
An Aggie could cure cancer, and the thread announcing it would draw downvotes from them.
Let's not overlook that the post is also longer than many novels. Many people don't appreciate the arrogance that is required to post something that long on a board where reading skills are quite remedial.
Downvotes don't bother me a bit on this thread. If a couple of folks bother to read it and watch the video that's a win for me, couldn't give a rat's arse about the haters or the folks who just want smack talk and short posts for everything. I love some good shite talking and am an active participant as well so can't complain.
Bonfire was just something very special and it makes me so sad it's never coming back like it was. That said I can promise no one here can say anything that's going to upset me about it, telling me it wasn't impressive is like saying Joe Burrow was an average QB in 2019. In both cases that person clearly has no idea what they are talking about.

Is he using up too much of the internet for you?
I’m sorry this is happening to you. We’ll try to tell meaningful stories with all pictures from now on.

You know that there is a dedicated A&M board on this site, right? Many times if a topic solely concerns one fanbase and team, it would be advisable to post it on a team specific board.
That is, after all, why they are there.

There seemed to be some confusion about why the thread is getting as many downvotes as it is upvotes. I am providing clarity on why that is happening.
It's fricking obnoxious to post a 5,000 word post; it's not good netiquette.

You could also just ignore it and move on

As time passes many don't even remember the Aggie Bonfire falling in '99 as they were too young or not born. Many SEC folks probably had little idea of Bonfire as well. Make no mistake though, it was something completely over the top and unique. Long thread here so feel free to check out but if you want to understand a little more about A&M read on.

Are you crazy? Don’t encourage long posts on a sports board.
I have been assured it is bad netiquette that needs to be downvoted.

Got it. The post was meant as informational for other SEC folks that might be interested. Most Aggies are very familiar with Bonfire. If it doesn't interest you that's cool as well.
BTW, I put this in the first paragraph for folks like yourself:

Probably because everyone hates how cultish and ridiculous Texas A&M is with their traditions.
