The last 3 or so years of Interior Line Recruiting on both sides of the ball says otherwise, ND is deep on the OLine and likely better on the DLine than Ky is

To me the thing that makes the most sense is simply joining the big 10. kick out rutgers maryland or nebraska who dont f'in belong, and get ND in. It's geographic, it makes a lot of longtime rivalries yearly, and the connection to the pac12 is already there.
that being said, this thread makes me think of another format I think would be interesting:
In alternating years, ND is either in the ACC or the Big10. they could rotate between the ACC atlantic and big ten east, or rotate around all 4 divisions. for the year they are in that division, they are eligible to win the division and play in the conference championship.
The idea of ND joining any conference other than the ACC or B10 for any period of time doesn't make any sense to me.
