not that they deserve any special treatment but is it possible for this to happen? They want to remain an independent, and that’s fine but what if they rotated P5 conference schedules every five years?

2020 is ACC
2021 SEC
2022 XII
2023 B1G
2024 Pac 12

And they could be eligible for the CCG each year. Could it work?

The divisions would be unequal in number of teams, so, your scenario would be hard to pull off.

Why not ask ND to join the big 12 conference? That is what is missing from the Big 12! There are no other competition from that conference!

frick Notre Dame.

They are playing against the only conference they would have a real shot at beating 80% of the time.

frick em. They went it alone, they can suffer the consequences when teams go conference only. No more ND football would not be a huge loss.

It would complicate the SEC so no. This is a special circumstance with added games to conference schedules. ND is already a " partner" with the ACC and all their other sports are in the ACC. The reason they were so easy to transition in. Also ND agreed to split their tv money with the other ACC schools, and I'm sure get some of theirs. They aren't gonna be willing to do that every year.

I will say this...

Imagine if Notre Dame won some of those conferences, managed 10+ wins in others, then struggled to get 8 in the SEC.

The other conferences would end this in a heartbeat.

Nobody is joining that conference. If anything, teams should be leaving it. Take out Oklahoma and Texas hype train, and you have the AAC.

To be fair, the Irish would have been a founding member of the Big X but Ohio State and Michigan blocked them. It’s been nothing but hate ever since. ND will never join the Big X.

That said, if they’re going to be P5 they shoild have to join a conference. All it will take is for P5 teams refusing to schedule them. They’d join the ACC with a quickness.

Don't be fricking ridiculous, ND would wear down Ky and beat this shite out of their 1 dimensional arse, ND losing to Bama & Clemson doesn't mean Ky can start smelling their own piss

ND plays a Top15 to Top20 Sked most every season, they usually play 2 G5s plus 10 P5s every season

Before CV19, most Conference Members played 8 Conf Games, 1 P5 Rival OoC, and if they were lucky played a P5 Team in The CCG, guess what Dude, that adds up to 10 P5 games for those that make the Conf CG, ND usually plays their 10 P5s in the Regular Season

According to my Math skills 10 P5 Games is substantially equal to 10 P5 Games makes no difference if it comes in a Conf or as an Independent

Since you wanna criticize ND not being in a Conference, they are one of a FEW P5 Programs to NEVER PLAY a crappy low level D1AA Team in the History of their Program, can your Team say the same?

ND's issue isn't being in a Conference, ND's issue is idiot Fans that parrot what they hear from the CFB Media that over value a TENTH P5 GAME which is what the Conf CGs are, they are a 10th P5 Game which ND does every regular season

Also, most Pac12 Teams play 10 P5 Teams each Regular season, Same with the Big12

Go check Sagarin's USA Today strength of schedule ratings over the last 10, 15, 20 seasons and you'll see that ND's SoS is almost always among the Top20 among P5 Teams

In summary, do more research before your parrot the idiot ideas of the next guy
