"Stupid and baseless" are what you've done -- not shown jack shite.

I've shown, pretty conclusively, that UCLA is not an elite basketball job anymore. This is all you've got to come back with? Unsurprising...

Haha you are making useless points do you not realize that? I am not an altar or flamming, I am genuinely making better points than you. Saying Duke will not be shite after K is like saying Kentucky and UCLA aren't shite now. UCLA had down year but still making the tournament and made back to back tournaments in 08 and 09 I believe. Also, you have to understand that Duke will either get Mike Brey or Johnny Dawkins. Both of which will do more than fine. Now, how did that feel?

A 35 year reaction is "knee jerk"? RIGHTTT...

Keep telling yourself that UCLA is still an elite job -- when they got turned down by every big name coach in the country and eventually got mediocre coach who is horrible in the postseason.

Okay, Captain Knee Jerk.

by bringing up Arizona. A team this year that UCLA swept, lost to in the conference tourney, and finished behind them in the regular season conference standings

Nothing can happen with the ACC until the Maryland lawsuit is finalized.

Yea, everyone I think is in a holding pattern till that is resolved. Even reduced to just $25 million, would give other schools great incentive to leave.

Which part of what I said is hard for you frickers to understand? Actually everything involving actual numbers are difficult for telefawx -- which we already knew.

quote:

they are in the process of becoming an afterthought in the eyes of the country...

They were turned down by multiple midmajor coaches = NOT AN ELITE JOB. The guy they hired has been to ONE sweet 16 in EIGHTEEN YEARS as coach. He failed to get Iowa there -- He failed to get New Mexico there. He coached in one major conference and had an under .500 conference record in 8 years there. NOTHING about that hire screams imminent success our top 5 job.

quote:

Arizona is, generally speaking, a superior basketball job and team to them in their own conference now.

Since 1985:

UCLA: 22 tournament appearances, 9 conference championships, 11 Sweet Sixteens, 6 Elite Eights, 4 Final Fours, 1 Runner Up, 1 National Title
Arizona: 27 tournament appearances, 12 conference championships, 14 Sweet Sixteens, 8 Elite Eights, 4 Final Fours, 1 Runner Up, 1 National Title

2012-2013 Attendance:

Arizona: 13,602(19th)
UCLA: 6,353(way the frick back)

So, UCLA brings HALF as many people(in a year they won the conference) -- have 5 fewer tourneys, 3 fewer conference championships, 3 fewer sweet sixteens, 2 fewer elite eights, and identical number of final fours, national runner ups, and national championships over the past 30 years.

Basically, you are welcome for just becoming my latest bitch. Class is out.

One season now defines the overall state of a program? Nice to know.

Up one post -- and STFU.

I don't know for the other coaches, but I could of told you they had no shot to hire Shaka Smart. If he does leave VCU it won't be to the west coast. UCLA won't be the last big name he turns down. I actually think he will be in Richmond for at least 10 years. I think he wants to build the VCU program into something much bigger.

Did the guy trying to claim UCLA is about to be forgotten really say this? UCLA has been to two final fours in the past six years and another elite eight.. Just stop typing.

So by your train of thought, Oregon is a better job than ND in football

Im just saying, to say UCLA has lost prominence is retarded. They didn't have a great year but they made the tournament and brought in a great recruiting class last year. If Duke maintains like UCLA has, they will continue competing in the ACC and a final four every 5 to 10 years. Thats not falling off.

They are UCLA. They will always be a top 10 job no matter what. Just like ND in football

Has Oregon sustained success over Notre Dame for 25-30 years? Yeah, I didn't fricking think so. Oregon hasn't done a damn thing more than Notre Dame in the past 30 years. At any rate -- quit trying to change my analogy after you questioned my initial one and promptly got owned.

By YOUR reasoning on this very page,

Tulsa is clearly a superior football teams to Notre Dame though -- since they defeated them in their most recent contest.

Your logic is all over the place -- and mostly absent.

A "final 4 every 5 to 10 years" IS the very definition falling off at Duke. Do you not fricking understand the definition of that word? They've been to 11 Final Fours under Coach K -- better than one every three years.
