Thanks sms I appreciate the hello!
Unfortunately I turned 85 this past weekend and its a myriad of health problems ever since. The fishing trips to the coast, bingo, and craft times have been put on hold

Do HS coaches just not have any sense anymore? My niece who is a Freshman and all district is left in a game down by 20 and gets rolled into tearing her PCL last 10 seconds of game. Wtf am I missing, you let the scrubs in in that situation.

I watched some high school baseball tonight. One of my youth was the starting pitcher.
He got slammed for 7 runs, went 0 for 2, and his team lost via mercy rule 10-0 in the 5th.
Needless to say, I didn't talk to him after the game.

I'm so sorry to hear that about your niece. She tore her PCL? That's a rare injury if that is all she tore. They usually tear ACLs in basketball, and with females a meniscus tear is usually involved.
Hey muddy
Eta: And I can tell you from experience, 90% of HS coaches are jack asses.

I'm not mad about her getting hurt, just the way it happened. I mean there are 3 Seniors playing in last game ever. They needed to be in at that time. I get building, but have sense.

From what the ATC and her dad said she had some girl fall right into her on a drive, had foot planted didn't react quick enough. She said she didn't hear the pop or feel it. So that's why they said PCL. I was glad it wasn't a collateral

Sorry if that wasn't meant for a laugh LCT, but it was pretty funny the way you wrote it.

PCL is probably worse than an MCL or LCL. I have never had an athlete tear a PCL. I can't remember if we have ever had a patient in the PT clinic with a PCL. They are very rare. Thankfully, medicine has made leaps and bounds in recent years. 20 years ago, ACL, MCL, etc were career ending injuries. Get her a good surgeon and a good PT and she will be fine. She will probably be playing in a knee brace from now on, which isn't really a bad thing. It's better that it happened while she is a freshman vs her senior year. She has lots of time to rehab.

I had one tear a PCL, but he tore the ACL and MCL along with it. Never had one tear just the PCL either. Like you said, it's rare.

He was pissed. He's a damn good 1st baseman, but got robbed on some calls.
It was amazing though, going from watching USC play yesterday, and play clean and good looking baseball, to watching two private high schools play sloppy today.
The team they were playing today had 2 players who looked like SEC O-linemen. They were huge. And of course crushed the ball.

That's what I'm thinking. You usually don't just tear the PCL. The mechanisim of injury sounds like ACL.

The only thing about PCL that worries me is that sometimes it get lax. The last PCL I recall seeing was a combo where the guys cleat stuck in a sod and he tore meniscus and chipped patella because the force of cut was so violent. Sad part about it, was we tried to get him into Tiempos that night because the field was so bad, but he wanted the stability of a removable. I'm glad I switched him to reg 1/2 instead of 5/8 we used, we cheated like bastards at SMS.

Oh that's right you are in Gamecock country now. I hope AU can get to respectability in baseball. Pitching is so key at any level.

Carolina Stadium blows Plainsman Park out of the water BTW. And I hate saying that.
It's on par with quality Minor League stadiums.
But yeah, pitching is key. Auburn needs that badly.
