He is awaiting a release date from Alexander. Im hoping they send him to this group home/rehab thing in Tennessee.

the family wants him to go to Dermott. I thought that is hard core, like Cummings hard core.

The paddle is really more of a suggestion -- a luxury item, if you will.

Buy a fan from the thrift store, ghetto rig it to a car battery, and viola....an outboard motor.

well im not goin in white water so i kinda need the paddle

I did think about just buying the kayak now since its on sale and the most expensive part and picking up paddle and pfd in a week or so and then buying other gear as i venture out further.

I'm thinking about starting to make a bunch of Wifi signal boosters and selling them on ebay for lil extra cash.

When I used to whitewater, I always wanted to try out the hand paddles.

870 that is Dermott. If you get sent there as a kid, I think you will end up in Cummings.

PFD, pffffft.

I went overboard when I bought one. Did all this research, put a little flashing signal light and whistle on it. It's been stuffed inside my kayak for three years and hasn't been worn once.

I can't really talk about casual kayaking since I was all into whitewater when I kayaked.

PFD, helmet, gloves, dry bags etc.

There isn't much whitewater in the Atlantic Ocean or Gulf, unless you count the surf.

I'm not trying to shame you into not having one... I just found buying a nice one to be a massive waste of money.

I like diving, fishing, etc off of my kayak. The PFD just gets in the way.

The best treatment sometimes is to take them into a dark room, hire a dude from Jersey or New York that has a middle name of "The", and just walk away and bring some manicotti and rigatoni to said person after he is done with his "session"

I thought about just getting an old one from a friend or family member but i figured i could get a new one that is made for that instead of a bulky one for a boat.

I doubt i will really need it starting off in nice calm water but later on going into deeper and further trips might be nice to have one.

I've been wanting to kayak from Key Largo to Key West.

May kayak isn't made for long distance paddling though. Doesn't track worth shite. It'll probably take me 3+ weeks to make it 100 miles.
