With respect to the whole resume arguement, you have to look at the entire resume including losses. The fact is, OSU's loss was much, much, much worse than Bama's loss and that is a huge consideration. OSU also had a 1 point victory over A&M and a 7 point victory over KSU. In contrast, Bama was dominant in each of its 11 wins. Also, Alabama's best win (Arkansas) was better than OSU's best win (KSU). These were all parts of the resumes and were all considered by voters.
But I admit that the biggest factor in Bama's favor was probably perception. The Big 12 was incredibly strong according to the computers and this resulted in an impressive SOS for OSU. Despite the computer rankings, I think most voters still believed that the SEC was the stronger of the 2 conferences and Bama's wins over the likes of recent BCSNC's like Auburn and Florida weighed heavier than OSU's wins over newcomers like KSU and Baylor.

How mad will bama fans be when LSU beats the Tahd in Tiger Stadium again this year and "rolls" to a national championship matchup with USC?
